In the best university in Punjab and in the best engineering college in India, Desh Bhagat University is offering job oriented training programmes under the aegis of Digital India programme launched by Honourable Prime Minister Sh. Narender Modi. Under ESDM Scheme (Electronics System Design and Manufacturing Skill Certification Scheme), these courses are run by Ministry of Communication and IT, Govt. of India to create employable skills in the electronics trades. While giving details about these programmes university Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that Desh Bhagat University is a provisionally authorized Training Provider of Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) for the Certificate Program of National Occupational Standards for job role namely, Handset Repair Engineer (Level II), Broadband Technician & Tower Technician. Dr. Singh added that Desh Bhagat University has all the relevant infrastructure and facilities and so the Ministry of Communication and IT, Govt. of India has selected the university to run these fully government sponsored skill development programmes. Mrs. Tejinder Kaur, Pro- Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University said that these programmes will prove a boon for the youth by providing them a skill leading to entrepreneurship opportunity with very low investment and their entrepreneurship will generate the employment for others. These courses are of 3 months duration and for these courses 10th + ITI/12th Pass/other non-science graduate students in the age group of 18 years and above are eligible. Eligible students may avail the benefits up to 75% fee assistance (25% scholarship for meritorious SC/ST/Economically Weaker Sections students). There is no fee for SC/ST and Economically weaker section students. Certificates for these courses will be awarded by ESSCI/ TSSC /Govt. of India and university will give 100% Placement Assistance.
