Art Exhibition KALAKRITI-2016 at Desh Bhagat University

Desh Bhagat University  Bachelor of Fine Arts college in Punjab and Department of Art and Craft jointly organised an Art Exhibition ‘Kalakriti-2016’ at university campus. While giving details of the event, university Pro Chancellor Ms. Tajinder kaur said that the aim of this event was to motivate the students to explore their talents freely.



University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated this art exhibition. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Art is not what you see but what you make others see. He highly appreciated the artistic approach of the students and said that such events provide a platform to students to show their talents and boost their confidence as well.



Diploma  in Art and Craft Department The artists showed their talent by participating in Clay Modelling, Painting, Photography and Sketch Making during this exhibition. The students presented their emotions through clay modeling and wood arts. Students made very attractive clay statues of famous personalities.


In photography; theme was nature’s beauty, in which participants showed their skills beautifully. Last session of this exhibition was a mixed for Poster making, sketching and painting. Students also made 3D paintings and banners against social evils like Drugs, Dowry and Female foeticide etc. Paintings showing the glimpses of Punjabi  & Gujrati culture made by the teachers also got good appreciations.


The painters of paintings which were liked most were honoured. Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh praised and appreciated the talent of the students. He encouraged the students to move ahead in their pursuit of knowledge and talent enhancement. Head of the Departments and class in-charges were also present on the occasion.

Art Exhibition 'Prayaas-2015' At Desh Bhagat University

Fine Arts Department of Faculty of Design, Desh Bhagat University organized an Exhibition cum Art Festival 'Paryaas-2015' During the three days long exhibition students of fine arts showcased their talent and creative skills through Sculpturing, Sketching, Graphic Design, Paper Cutting, 3-D Modelling, Composition Painting, Portrait, Sketching and drawing etc.


The event was inaugurated by University Pro Chancellor Ms. Tajinder Kaur. Addressing the students she appreciated the creativity and functioning of the students saying that today the scope of Fine Arts has widened and the professionals are making handsome earnings. S. Jagdeep Singh Garcha from Department of Fine Arts, Punjabi University Patiala was the chief guest on the occasion. He said that Artists express their feelings and what is in their minds through objects and sometimes their creations speaks without saying anything. Interacting with students, he also explained in detail about the different techniques and precautions necessary for making of Paintings and Sculptures.



Renowned artists S. Balwinder Singh from Khanna and Mr. R. K. Nigam from Dehradoon were guest of honour, who shared his experiences as an artist in different parts of the country and abroad. A delegation/team of artists consisting of Pritpal Singh, Navdeep Singh and Kamaljeet Singh from Sobha Singh Memorial Art Group, Jagraon especially came to honour the winner students who had participated in the exhibition at Jagraon earlier. The names of the students are Inderjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Sanpreet Kaur, Sameena Bano, Raman Kumari and Bimal. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh appreciated the artistic creations of the students saying that this event has been organised to acquaint the students with the latest trends in art industry at the international level. University Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh thanked all the guests for sharing their valuable views and expressed pleasure at the overwhelming response to this event by students and staff.

Guest lecture on Cad Software At Desh Bhagat University In The Best University In Punjab

In the best fashion designing technology college in Punjab and in the best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Design organized a Guest Lecture on use of CAD software in the fashion industry and academics, under Industry-Academia Interface Series. A large number of students from the departments of Fashion Technology & Design, Fine Arts and from Animation and Multi-Media attended it. The keynote speaker on this the occasion was Mr. Jince (Support & Training Head at Techno Piece Solutions, Hyderabad), who has a long experience of training about this software and his presentation covered various aspects of the garment the manufacturing process in the industry.

While interacting with the students, the learned speaker explained to the students & the faculty members how beneficial this software could be for Garment Pattern Making, Fashion Designing, Jacquard Designing, Embroidery Designing, all kinds of testing instruments for fiber, Yarn and Fabrics, etc. This software has given the new dimensions to the designing industry and students can create countless designs with the help of this software. The demand for CAD experts is very high in the industry and most of the manufacturing companies are now equipped with this software. He also shared some important tips about the handling of this software and also his experiences with the students. The lecture was followed by a range of queries put forward by the students to which the learned speaker aptly replied. The students were quite happy to attend the lecture and expressed the view that the session was very informative. They thanked the university authority for arranging such a knowledgeable event and said that it has added several important things about the use of CAD software to their knowledge. University Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur expressed the view that the University aims to make the student's prospect industry ready. They further articulated that such events are very useful for their multi- dimensional growth. Giving details, Vice Chancellor Dr, Shalini Gupta stated that the program was arranged under Industry-Academia Interface Series, which the university has started recently and the main focus of this event was to equip the students with technical knowledge of CAD software and it's working. In the end, Registrar Dr. Virinder Singh thanked the learned speaker and hoped that the event will prove quite useful for the students and to the faculty members as well.
