Best BAMS college in India and best university in Punjab Desh Bhagat University dedicates 550 years Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev to spread the message of Guru Sahib's teachings, teachings and community harmony to the students and common people through various events from November 5 to November 11.
Commemorate to Prakash Utsav blood donation camp was organized by the University's Ayurveda Hospital and in collaboration with Lions Club Mandi Gobindgarh.

The inauguration of the camp was made by the University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and club president HPS Kochar. University CMO Dr. Baljeet Singh and his team was supervised this camp. During the camp, 30 units of blood were collected. Speaking on the occasion, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that this small initiative of ours would help save many lives. He also told that we should all come forward for the welfare of the people.

In his address, Lions Club President Mr Kochar said that due to road accidents and occasional illnesses, patients need more blood and sometimes the absence of timely blood also causes death so we all have a duty to be part of maximum blood donation camps to save valuable lives over time. On this occasion, Director of Ayurveda Dr. Kulbhushan, Principal S.D. Pandey and Dr. Jyoti Dhami etc. were also present.

National Doctor’s Day Celebration At Desh Bhagat University in The Best BAMS College in India

Desh Bhagat Dental and Ayurveda College & Hospital, Desh Bhagat University in best Ayurveda college in India and in the best university in Punjab jointly organized a free medical camp on the occasion of National Doctor’s day. The camp was organized to make people aware of health and fitness.

National Doctor's Day is observed to honor the legendary physician and West Bengal's second Chief Minister, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy whose birth and death anniversary coincides in the same day. This day pay tribute to the whole medical profession and to highlight the value of doctors in our lives. In 1991, the National Doctor's Day was established by the Central Government to be recognized and observed every year on 1 July to pay honor Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. The theme of National Doctor’s Day 2019 is “Zero tolerance to violence against doctors and clinical establishment”. Every year the theme was announced by the Indian Medical Association. The theme will raise awareness about the violence happening with the doctors across India.

Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib Sri Parshant Goyal inaugurated the camp. On this occasion, cake cutting ceremony was performed by chief guest Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib Sri. Parshant Goyal, Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Vice Chancellor Dr. Varinder Singh, and Staff Members.  Dr. Zora Singh appealed to the people to get maximum advantage from the services being provided by Desh Bhagat Hospital.

In his speech, Sri Parshant Goyal appreciated the efforts of Desh Bhagat University. He motivated the students and he also said that it is necessary to raise awareness about the roles, importance, and responsibilities of doctors and to promote the medical profession.

University Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated the doctors for their services. She also informed that Medicines were provided free of cost and some laboratory tests were also done free of cost to needy patients.  While giving more details, Registrar Dr. Kulbhushan disclosed that during the camp the Physiotherapy specialist examined more than 200 patients and gave necessary medical assistance. He also advised the people to make exercise and walking for half an hour a daily habit. Desh Bhagat Dental College Vice Principal Dr. Sanjeev Soni said that the dental doctors gave a demonstration to masses how to use a toothbrush and to do it regularly before going to bed. The team of doctors consisting of Dr. Baljeet Singh (CMO), Dr. Gulzar Singh (SMO) and Dr. Jyoti Dhami (Medical Officer) advised the people about proper eating habits; avoid eating unripe and unhygienic fruits. On this occasion, a colorful cultural event was organized and students presented folk songs and dances such as Manipuri, Punjabi, Himachali and many more. Students also acted a play on the theme of National Doctor’s day.

University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the doctors for their services. The patients were highly pleased and contented with the treatment and facilities provided by DBU during the medical camp.

In Best University in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Celebrates International Yoga Day


In best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur on the International Yoga Day said that ‘Yoga is the art work of awareness on the canvas of body, mind and soul. It transforms new energy, enthusiasm and positive thinking in us and our youth have to adopt yoga for holistic development of their personalities’.



She was speaking on the inaugural ceremony of 4th International Day of Yoga organized at the University. The District level program was organised in collaboration with Ayush Department, Punjab and District Ayurvedic and Unani office, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.


 In best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Registrar, Dr. Kulbhushan informed that more than 800 participants attended the early morning session with full enthusiasm. The event was started with the live telecast of Prime Minister of India Sh. Narinder Modi's Yoga Day Celebration from Dehradoon.



The team of Ayush Department was headed by Dr. Poonam Vashist (District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, FGS) who said that it’s proud moment for all of us that today Yoga has attained a new identity all over the world. The Ayush team consisting of Dr. Rajan Kaushal (Medical Officer), Dr. Jaswant Singh, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Deewan Dheer (District Ayurvedic Officer) and Dr. Kulwinder Sharma imparted the knowledge of various types of yoga exercises.


Desh Bhagat University situated in Punjab offers some of the best Ayurveda courses in India like BAMS, M.D. Ayurveda Kayachikitsa, M.D. Ayurveda RasaShastra, B.Sc. Naturopathy & Yogic Science and Post Graduate Diploma in Panchkarma.

 Earlier, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh while welcoming all the guests and participants said that Yoga practice makes us strong internally as well as externally.  A large number of students and eminent personalities belonging to different areas participated in the celebration and expressed their happiness saying that Yoga has transformed a new energy in them. The students who have won positions in different categories of Yoga Competition were also honoured.

5 Students Get Jobs In Jiva Ayurveda

Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Ayurveda and Research orgnaised a Seminar entitled ‘Effective Treatment of Highly Common Diseases’.  The event was organised in collaboration with Jiva Ayurveda, Faridabad (Haryana), in which students of different classes participated. University Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, while inaugurating the event said that treatment of so many diseases through Ayurveda is quite worthwhile as it dominates preventive aspects.


Dr. Ishu Arora and Ms. Preeti Sharma, Senior Ayurveda Experts at Jiva interacted with the students and informed them about importance of Ayurveda System in Effective Treatment Therapies. They also gave presentation about Jiva Ayurveda. A quiz competition ‘Ayurwhiz’ was also organized wherein students interacted with representatives of the company and sought their queries.



On this occasion offer letters were given to the meritorious students named Vishali Walia(1st), Neetu Sohal, Sanamika Gupta (Both 2nd) and Akshay Chopra & Shruti Bhardwaj (Both 3rd) who had got first, second and third positions respectively in BAMS Final Professional examinations by Jiva Company.













Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the JIVA Ayurveda for its generous contribution to the development of Ayurveda. They also talked about the long healthy relationship of the institute with the company. Registrar Dr. Kulbhushan Vashist thanked both the guests and hoped that this event will prove quite useful for the students and faculty members. Staff members and intern students were present on the occasion.

Inter Faculty Volleyball Tournament At Desh Bhagat University

Among top private universities in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University’s Sports Department organised an Inter Faculty Volleyball Tournament for Men and Women. A total of 12 teams including 8 teams of boys and 4 teams of girls from different faculties participated in it.



The event was inaugurated by Sub Inspector Harwinder Singh, (International Medallist, Boxing). He inspired the students and all present to play games regularly to stay healthy and keep fit.


The teams played their fixtures and showed their sports talent in league matches. The teams played well and fought hard to enter in semi-finals. After League matches, the Semi Final matches were particularly thrilling. In Finals, the battle for Men’s and Women titles was in between Faculty of Ayurveda & Research and Faculty of Education.


Both the finals were very interesting and breath-taking. All team players played their best and the spectators were applauding at each move of the players.


In Final of Men’s category: Faculty of Ayurveda & Research beat Faculty of Education by 25-22, while in Women title Faculty of Education beat Faculty of Ayurveda & Research by 21-16 and lifted the trophy.


Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur presided over the Prize Distribution function and appreciated all players for their excellent performance.


Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh congratulated the winning teams and best players for remarkable play. The tournament was held under the supervision of Assistant Director Sports and Coach Nandan Singh.

Desh Bhagat University Ayurveda Students Honoured by Himalaya Pharmaceuticals

PG school of Ayurveda at Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College and Hospital organized an award distribution function to honour its meritorious students of BAMS (Final) class. The event was organised by DBACH and University Faculty of Ayurveda & Research in collaboration with the Himalaya Drug Company, Bengaluru. The Ayurvedic College at the University is among the best BAMS colleges in Punjab, Chandigarh.


DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh presided over the event. Speaking on the occasion he stated that Ayurveda is our country’s health system which has changed the life of many all over the world with no side effects.


 Ayurveda combines the Sanskrit words Ayur (life) and Veda (Science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda means ‘the science of life’. He encouraged the students to promote Ayurveda System to the maximum for the better and healthier life of the society.



The team of Himalaya Drug Company consisting of Dr. Mehak (Manager, Scientific Services) Mr. Mohit Arora (Regional Manager) and Mr. Bhushan Bhalla (Pharma Sales officer) informed that the company honours every year to the toppers of BAMS final year for recognizing their academic excellence with the awards.  This is a part of Ayurvedic Medical College Connect (AMCC) programme started by the company, they added.


Giving more details Director Dr. Kulbhushan informed that 'Jivaka' and 'Ayur Visharada' Awards were given to the meritorious students. Among best bams college in punjab, Desh Bhagat University's BAMS Final Year students Vishali walia who had stood first received JIVAKA


Award with Rs.15,000 cash while Neetu Sohal and Sanamika Gupta both got Second position were honoured with Ayur Visharada Award and Rs. 10,000 cash prize along with certificates. A Scientific session was also conducted by Dr. Mehak wherein students interacted with representatives of the company and sought their queries.



Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the Himalaya Drug Company for its generous contribution to the development of Ayurveda. He also talked about the long healthy relationship of the institute with the company.

 Faculty members thanked all the officials of the company. Dr. Amitabh Singh (HoD, Kaya-Chikitsa), Dr. Rimpaljeet Kaur (Academic Coordinator), staff members and a large numbers of students were present on the occasion.

Desh Bhagat University Celebrates National Ayurveda Day


Desh Bhagat University, best private university in Punjab (2nd Rank, NIRF Ranking- MHRD, Govt. of India) Faculty of Ayurveda and Research at PG school of Ayurveda celebrated 2nd National Ayurveda Day with full fervour. A special function was organised, in which a large number of students and staff members participated. The celebration started with the Havan and Pujan of Lord Dhanwantri.



Presiding over the programme at PG school of Ayurveda, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that Lord Dhanvantri is founding father of Ayurveda and an epitome of health in life.


  He told that Ayurveda is very old and unique health system initiated by our Saints and Sages and is very useful to keep ourselves healthy and fit without any side effects.



Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur exhorted the students to work hard and motivated them for practicing and to promote Ayurveda to the maximum. Director Dr. Kulbhushan expressed his views about the importance of the National Ayurveda Day and Dhanvantri Jayanti.


 The university offers some of the best Ayurveda courses in India. He added that Ayurveda is a science to protect health of all human beings and to cure the diseases.















A cultural programme was arranged in which students showcased their skills. An essay writing competition on the Importance of Ayurveda in collaboration with the team of NASYA Punjab was also held, in which Darshika student of BAMS-I got first prize, Pawan Vishnoi BAMS-I got 2nd prize and Ravinder Kaur BAMS-4th year got 3rd prize. Later the students who got positions in different cultural items were also honoured.
