In the Best Nursing College in Punjab Desh Bhagat Nursing Students Organise Awareness Programme On World Breast Feeding Week

In the best GNM nursing college in Punjab and in the best ANM nursing college in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Nursing students celebrated Breast Feeding Week at Civil Hospital Mandi Gobindgarh. The program was aimed at creating mass awareness regarding the importance of mother's milk for the children. Dr. Baljit Singh, Civil Surgeon Fatehgarh Sahib highlighted the benefits of breastfeeding in the growth and development of children. He also apprised the audience about the maternity leave benefits for mothers in private as well as govt. sector. Dr. Bhupinder Singh SMO, Mandi Gobindgarh explained in detail how mother's milk created immunity in the children to fight a number of diseases and how it contributed to the physical and mental health of the newborn babes. To create awareness, nursing students also visited some local areas in the form of mini-rallies, they were holding Colourful banners and placards with awareness messages. The program culminated into a rally that was organized under the supervision of Director Faculty of Nursing Dr. Ramandeep Dhillon. She briefed that apart from this, the students also performed a play on breastfeeding and provided awareness about the importance and advantages of breastfeeding for mother as well as for children. Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Tejinder Kaur appreciated the students for their efforts to make the community aware by organizing such events. They also exhorted the students to start a decisive drive against drug abuse through posters and awareness rallies.
