DBU Students Who Got Package of 2 Crore Introduced To Media During a Press Conference

Amonst top private universities in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University’s 2 students who got a package of Rs. 2 Crores from a USA based company Equity Score were introduced to media. A press conference was arranged in this connection at university campus. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh while interacting with the media persons informed them that both students Varinder Kumar and Lakhvinderjeet Singh are studying engineering in DBU.

They are selected by the company during the State Level Job Fair Visionzz-19 held recently at the university. The company has started imparted training to the students which will be of an year. After completing the training they will enrol with salary and package. Both the students received their appointment letters from The Chief Minister of Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh during the event held at Mohali, he informed. Dr. Singh also thanked the Govt. of Punjab, particularly Technical Education Minister S. Charanjit Singh Channi and others for the cooperation during the Job Fair.

Professor Paul Douglas Katchings, who is Advisor to Equity Score LLC and part of association while talking to media, said that these students will get Rs. 18,000 per month during the training period. After completing training, they will get salary plus shares of the company according to their performance. The base income for each candidate will range between $300 to $520 a month along with stock options valued between $202,000 and $313,000, he informed. The company is working in the field of App Development at different platforms.

The students who were in a jubilant mood gave the entire credit for their success to the highly committed teachers, state-of-the-art infrastructure and congenial academic environment in the university. Their parents expressed happiness saying that it’s wonderful that their children will earn such a good amount during the study.

They thanked university officials for this initiative. Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the initiative of state government for Mega Job Fair series. Desh Bhagat United Vice President Er. Sandeep Singh informed that the students are excited to join Equity Score course. Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur thanked media for visiting the campus.

Desh Bhagat Nursing Students Create Awareness On Breast Feeding

Among Top Nursing Colleges in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Nursing students organized an awareness programme on Breast Feeding. The programme was aimed at creating mass awareness regarding the importance of mother's milk for the children. The week long programme highlighted the benefits of breast feeding in growth and development of the children. The experts explained in detail how mother's milk created immunity in the children to fight a number of diseases and how it contributed to the physical and mental health of the new born babies.

Giving more details, Dr. Ramandeep Kaur Dhillon (Director, Faculty of Nursing) informed that to make people aware, nursing students visited some local areas in the form of mini rallies and they were holding Colourful banners and placards with awareness messages.  Apart from this, the students also performed a play on breast feeding and provided awareness about the importance and advantages of breast feeding for mother as well as for children.

Vice Principal Deepak Kumar Shandilya said that an inter college Quiz and a poster making competition were organized for B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic Nursing and GNM students. Ms. Khushpreet and Sunaina scored First and second position in poster making competition respectively. “Team” C was awarded as the winner of quiz competition. The respective students were awarded by the authorities.

Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated the students for their efforts to make the community aware by organising such events. They also exhorted the students to start a decisive drive against drug abuse through posters and awareness rallies.

A Rich Tribute Paid To Mata Gujri Ji And Sahibzadas At Desh Bhagat University

A religious programme was held at Desh Bhagat University, in the pious memory of Mata Gujri Ji and the two younger sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The martyrs were remembered through Shabad Kirtan and Religious Vaars. The initiative was taken by University’s transport department, in which authorities, staff members and students from different faculties marked their presence.

 While paying rich tributes to the Martyrs, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Tajinder Kaur said that the martyrdom of Mata Gujri Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh ji is exemplary and they showed us the path of truth and bravery. University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh also paid rich tributes to the martyrs.

Directors and staff members from different faculties were also present on this occasion. Authorities, staff members and students also participated in the Langer Sewa.  All the arrangements were made by university transport department which were appreciated by each and everyone. 

Desh Bhagat University Is Hosting Inter University Football (Men) Tournament

Desh Bhagat University is going to organize North Zone Inter University Football (Men) Tournament 2017 at its campus from 17th January to 25th January. While giving details of this tournament, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that this is an annual event of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and this is first time that Desh Bhagat University has got a chance to host this national level event.

 In this tournament 70 university teams from different parts of India will take part in it. Around 2500 students are expected to participate in this tournament and they will fight for the title. A major goal of the tournament is to provide a platform for students to showcase their sports skills, breakthroughs, accomplishments and talents. The event will provide a big stage to the students of different states to exchange views, ideas and their culture. Dr. Singh said that sports personalities of different games will grace the event to encourage all the teams.

Dr. Singh further informed that  the university is all set for this major event and this tournament will be organized strictly in accordance with Latest Rules and Regulations adopted by respective National Sports Federations approved by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Dbu Students Raise Voice Against Child Abuse

Desh Bhagat University, (Best University in Punjab) - 2nd Rank NIRF Ranking MHRD, Govt. of India) students once again raised their voice against all kind of child abuse. Students of Media, Animation and other Departments of the university expressed their resentment by staging silent March against brutal murder of a student at Gurugram (Gurgaon) and at Jandiala Guru at Desh Bhagat Chowk, Mandi Gobindgarh. Students were holding placard in their hands bearing slogans like Stop Child Abuse, Make Sure the Safety of the Childs, Accused Must Be Punished and Safe Child Safe India  etc.

While talking on the issue media students Vishal and Pardeep said incidents like Gurugram’s Ryan School and Jandiala Guru are shameful for the Society, the accused must be given hard sentence. Lakhvir, Abhishek  and Geet said that we demand exemplary punishment for the accused. Yashwant, Harman, Mukesh, Nitin, Paramvir, Jasvir and Manvir stressed that schools and education institutions should arranged such kind of security that children or students feel free and get education. They also appealed that Govt. should make a strict law so that this kind of incidences do not occur in the future.

The State and Centre Governments should take all necessary steps for the safety and security of the students. The student’s voice get good response when the media persons from different groups and social societies personally reached the venue and applauded the initiative of the  students.University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the initiative taken by the students.

The Dhrana was staged under the supervision of university teachers Prabhjot Singh, Ashima and senior faculty members.

Desh Bhagat University Organises Legal Aid Camp

 Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Law College in Punjab Organized a one day Legal Aid Camp in connection with World Literacy Day. The camp was arranged at Village Dandrala Dhindsa of District Patiala. Giving Details about the event, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur stated that the students of different Law classes along with faculty members participated in it with zeal and enthusiasm. The objective of the camp was to make people aware about their fundamental rights and about different sections of law. The programme was attended by the villagers, Panchayat members; teachers and students of Govt. Senior Secondary School.

Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, HoD (Desh Bhagat University Best College in Punjab) delivered a lecture on Right to Education and its importance for the progress of the society. On the other side   the law students shared their views on the topics like Law and life, FIR, Arrest, Rights of women during Arrest, Dowry Death, Cyber Crimes, Modesty of Women, Consumer Rights, GST and Free legal aid etc. During the programme various queries put forward by the school students and the villagers were aptly replied by the law faculty members.

Govt. Senior Secondary School Principal, S. Sadhu Singh, village Sarpanch Mrs. Manpreet Kaur and Panchayat Members highly appreciated the effort of the students as well as of the University for such a Noble Task.  

Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh expressed the view that such events are very useful for students and help them in their multi-functional growth. Vice-chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that the University organises such events from time to time to make common people aware about their rights.

 During the camp faculty members Ms. Ravneet Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Mandeep Mann, Manpreet and Prabhjot Kaur also shared their views on different topics.

The World Famous Centenarian Sprinter Mann Kaur Gives Away Medals To Cross Country Winners At Desh Bhagat University Mandi Gobindgarh

Whenever the National Anthem of India is played at any International or National Event, it always encourages me to do better than before, said Centenarian Sprinter Mrs. Mann Kaur. The 101 years old Mann Kaur was presiding over the prize distribution function of the Cross Country Race organized by Desh Bhagat University, best private university in punjab, (MHRD, Govt. of India, - 2nd Rank NIRF Ranking 2017). She encouraged all the students to take part in sports event regularly rather than wasting time on internet or other useless things. During interaction with students she shared her life experiences with them.

It’s worth mentioning that Ms. Mann Kaur had won the 100 Meters Sprint at Auckland (New Zealand) during World Masters Games-2017, earlier this year. She is the only athlete from India who broke world record in Javelin Throw and Shot Put in her age group. She has won more than two dozen gold medals in Masters Athletics during last 6 years.

She was accompanied by her son Gurdev Singh, who appealed to all sports enthusiasts to do vote for her in a global online poll. Mrs. Mann Kaur has featured among the nominees for the prestigious 'Laureus World Best Sporting Moment of the Year 2017' Award. To Vote for her anyone can visit, he added. The university officials Honoured Mrs. Kaur for her extraordinary achievements in the field of athletics.

The inter faculty Cross Country Race was arranged to create awareness to Save Earth and to Save Water. The race began early in the morning as Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh flagged it off. Students from different faculties of the university took part in it with full enthusiasm. The race started from the university and finished back to the University.

Although, the competition was tough but it was a source of great awareness and inspiration for the students, who evinced great interest. In boy's category, Amandeep Singh was the first to cross the finishing line followed by Yograj who placed second and Jashanpreet stood third. All three were from Faculty of Education. Though for girls, the finishing point distance was less than the boys but they ran with full enthusiasm. Mamta (Faculty of Library and Information Science) stood first, Amandeep Kaur (Faculty of Computer Science and Applications) stood second and Rachna (Faculty of Ayurveda and Researech) was declared third in the competition.

The winning students were applauded by Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur. While speaking on the occasion she said that the objective of the event was to create awareness in public regarding protection of environment.

She said that as the most diverse and best university in punjab,  DBU is providing all types of facilities for all the major indoor and outdoor games to its students so that they are able to attain the desired heights in the field of sports. The event was held under the supervision of sports coordinator and Coach Nandan Singh.
