NDRF Team Visited In Best University In Punjab At Desh Bhagat University

A team from 7th battalion of National Disaster Response Force headed by Inspector Ram Lal visited in the best university in Punjab and in top universities in India at Desh Bhagat University for the disaster management awareness camp. Dr. Surjeet Pathjha welcomed Inspector Ram Lal, Sub Inspector Gurpreet Singh, Sub Inspector Sushil Kumar and all NDRF team members. First of all Inspector Ram Lal gave a brief introduction of National Disaster Response Force to students. He said that NDRF consists of 12 battalions. These 12 battalions are located at 12 different locations in the country based on the vulnerability profile of the country to cut down the response time for their deployment at disaster site. Each Battalion have 18 self contained search specialist and rescue teams of 45 personnel each including engineers, technicians, electricians, dog squads and medical/ paramedics. The total strength of each battalion is 1149 personnel. All the 12 battalions have been equipped and trained to respond natural as well as man-made disasters. Battalions are also trained and equipped for response during chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear emergencies. He further provides information to students that NDRF established by the Disaster Management Act in 2005. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) was constituted to lay down the policies, plans and guidelines for disaster management. The Disaster Management Act has statutory provisions for constitution of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for the purpose of specialized response to natural and manmade disasters. He also gave a presentation on NDRF which includes basic information of NDRF working, types of Hazards, Disasters, Risk Management and vulnerability.

NDRF team visited DBU by the instruction from DRR( Disaster Risk Reduction) to make the students aware about Natural Hazards and also guide them what to do in critical situation in Disaster. The NDRF team also gave demo of various needful actions that are performed during the disaster. They also trained students about first aid techniques.

On this occasion University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh motivated students. He said that we have to always got prepared to help of needy people because millions of people are killed by injuries every year due to lack of timely assistance. Taking immediate action and applying the appropriate techniques, while waiting for professional help, can considerably reduce deaths and injuries, and the impact of disasters. He also encourages students to take part in social development activities.

In Best University In Punjab Desh Bhagat University Students, Himanshu won silver medal in National Boxing championship and Pardeep in all India Inter University Wrestling championship

In best b.ed. colleges in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University school of Education students Himanshu Sharma and Pardeep Singh won silver medal. They both brought glory not only to the institution but to the state of Punjab. Himanshu Sharma won Silver Medal in National Boxing Championship held at Army Institute of sports Pune. He fought with Pankaj saini from all India police for silver medal. Pardeep Singh won Silver medal in All India Inter University Wrestiling Championship under 55 kg weight category. This championship held at Choudhry Bansi Lal University Bhiwani.
This was disclosed by DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. While felicitating the students, he said that Himanshu Sharma proved his worth during a very tough competition in light fly category. He is our Shining Star and a role model for other students. Our other student Pardeep Singh has proved that hard work and dedication always bear fruit, he added. Dr. Singh expressed the view that games and sports are an integral part of our education and to promote the same among students, Desh Bhagat University provides all types of incentives and facilities to the outstanding players.
University Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur while congratulating the student over the achievement said that university gives full importance not only to research, innovation and other scholastic activities but also to sports and other co-curricular activities. Himanshu Sharma alias Punch Machine (Named by his Coach) said that the competition was really tough but to reach at/in final was like a dream comes true and I am sure that I will punch for gold in next competition.
Pardeep and Himanshu gave whole credit for achievement to the sports facilities available in the university and the able guidance of coach Assistant Director (Sports) of DBU Mr. Nandan Singh.

40 youngsters selected for self employment at State Level Mega Job Fest at Desh Bhagat University In Best University In Punjab

Punjab Government under the scheme GHAR GHAR ROZGAAR organized a State Level Mega Job Fest at Desh Bhagat University, in best university in Punjab and top universities in India. The three day long fest targeted the students who are Graduates, Post Graduate in various streams like Management, Engineering, Business Administration and Computer Applications etc. The Fair was attended by large no of students from all over Punjab.
On the last day of Maga Job Fair Chief Guest S. Gurkirat Singh MLA Khanna inaugurated the function by ribbon cutting ceremony. All guests graced the occasion by their presence. On this occasion S. Gurkirat Singh said that this mega job fair will provide jobs to the youth, the Government has been organizing such job fairs on regular basis for providing suitable employment opportunities to candidates.
While giving details ADC S. Jaspreet Singh said in this Mega Event more than 40 well-known National and Multinational companies like SBI, Reliance JIO, Orane, Sportking,  Cinif Technology, Touch Stone, Willowood Crop, C S Soft Solution, Solitaire Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Pix India Pvt. Limited, Edelweiss, Aviator Hub, Hoshiarpur Automobiles  were participated.  On first day 133, second day 148 and third day 117 youngsters were selected for jobs and more than 40 youngsters were selected for self employment.
Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur expressed that the Job Fair initiative by Govt. of Punjab in collaboration with educational institutes would provide a golden opportunity to youth of the state to get jobs.
In best university in Punjab and top universities in North India, Desh Bhagat United Vice-President Er. Sandeep Singh said that the University organizes such Mega Fairs from time to time. The fair provided an opportunity to deserving students to get jobs in companies of national as well as international repute. Selected students appreciated the efforts of Desh Bhagat University and Punjab Government as they felt that they could have never got such a job through their own resources.

State Level Mega Job Fair Starts At Desh Bhagat University In Best University In Punjab

In best university in Punjab and top universities in India, Desh Bhagat University with the Collaboration of Punjab Government organized a State Level Mega Job Fest, at its campus. The three day long fest going to target the students who are Graduates, Post Graduate in various streams like Management, Engineering, Business Administration and Computer Applications etc. The Fair is going to be attended by large no of students from all over Punjab.

Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Fathegarh Sahib S. Shivdular Singh Dhillon inaguarated the Maga Job Fair along with guest of honors ADC S. Jaspreet Singh, SDM, Amloh Mr. Anand Sagar Tehsildar S.Navdeep Singh, Naib Tehsildar S. Karamjeet Singh Nansau, VDO Amloh Mr. Remesh Kumar, SHO S. Sandeep Singh (PPS) and PA of MLA S. Kaka Randeep Singh Sri Krishan Bhalla Ji. All guests graced the occasion by their presence. On this occassion Deputy Commissioner said that this mega job fair will provide a launch pad to give jobs to the youth who are educated and literate as well as who are uneducated.

While giving details, Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said in this Mega Event more than 40 well-known National and Multinational companies like SBI, Reliance JIO, Orane, Sportking,  Cinif Technology, Touch Stone, Willowood Crop, C S Soft Solution, Solitaire Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Pix India Pvt. Limited, Edelweiss, Aviator Hub, Hoshiarpur Automobiles  are participating.  These companies came with 1600 vacancies of different posts. The event received huge success on its first day.

‘Diwali Fete’ Sparks 2 Celebration Fire At Desh Bhagat University In Best University In Punjab

It was a Fun and Frolic Day at Desh Bhagat University in best university in Punjab and in top universities in India. The occasion was ‘Diwali Fete’ organized by IEDC department of the university. The fete presented healthy entertainment and symbols of rich Traditional Culture and Heritage of our country.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur and Vice Chancellor Dr. Varinder Singh inaugurated the mega event by lamp lighting ceremony. In inauguration speech Pro Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur said that such event proves a source of knowledge and recreation, from which the youth get a direction to prove their skills, gets practical exposure and information about our rich heritage and culture. “Go green, plant trees this Diwali instead of burning crackers” she said.
More than 1000 students from different government and private schools were invited by Desh Bhagat University on this occasion. Many arrangements like roller coaster ride, swings and seesaws organized by university for students and they also enjoyed verity of fun games. University students participated with full zeal and exhibited their talents through artwork, modeling, singing and dancing competitions etc. On this occasion stall of Ayurvedic and Herbal Products attracted attention of everyone which demonstrated products like Aloeveera Juice, Gel, Shamoo, Soaps, Tonics, Chawayanprash etc.
The response of the audience was excellent to 50 Exhibition cum Sale stalls of different products like Paintings, Decorative Articles, Phulkari, Knitted Articles, Interior Decoration Articles, Aromatic Candles, Artificial Jewellery and Flowers, Needle Work Articles, etc. A special Bakery Stall presented different delicious and mouth-watering items like Golgappas, Cakes, Pastries, Patties and Biscuits, South Indian dishes like Dosa, Idli, Sambar, Pickles and Chutneys etc.
Star attractions of the event were the performances of Manipuri Dance, Malwai Giddha, Bhangra by the individuals and teams of Girls and Boys. The students enjoyed the event so much that they started dancing out of joy.
Dr. Zora Singh said that the objective of the event was to entertain the students and to develop their entrepreneur skills as all the stalls were managed by the students of different faculties.
Vice Chancellor Dr.Varinder Singh appreciated the initiative of IEDC and appealed to the students to keep away from all kinds of drugs and proved their talent through this kind of programs. Directors and HoD’S, staff members from different faculties were also present on this occasion.

In best aeronautical colleges in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University School of Engineering and Agriculture Science celebrated Engineer’s Day as a remarkable tribute to the greatest Indian Engineer Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Vishweshvaraya (popularly known as Sir MV) under the theme of “A New Industrial Revolution”. Sir MV was held in high regard as a pre-eminent engineer of India.

 University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated the event with cake cutting ceremony. He motivated the students to take interest in Research & Development and get updates by reading newspapers, research papers and articles related to new technologies. He said that the objective of the university is to spread the light of education in every corner. “We want to ensure that even the weakest of the weak are able to get higher education” said Dr. Zora Singh.

This event was conducted to provide platform for young and fresh engineers to showcase their talent in technical field. Students participated with full fervor. The event included live project exhibition, quiz contest, modeling, dance competition and singing competition. Students presented Gujrati, Punjabi, Bengali and Himachali folk songs, wearing traditional dresses which enthralled the audience. A wonderful dance performance was given by Amit Kumar Student of engineering. Students presented a play on drug issue in Punjab. The play exposed the level of drug problem in Punjab.

The winners of the project exhibition are Vertical Gardening and Rainwater harvesting systems made by students. University Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh while presiding over the prize distribution function addressed the students and enlightened them about various aspects of Engineer’s Day. Pro Vice Chancellor (Director School of Engineering) Dr. A K Paul addressed the students and gave blessings for their bright future. He guided them over the importance of discipline in life for achieving goals. He also appreciated the performances of the students and the arrangements done by the faculty members and students.
