Tree Plantation Drive By Desh Bhagat University

Desh Bhagat University, best private university in Punjab (NIRF Ranking, MHRD Govt. of India) Faculty of Ayurveda & Research organised a tree plantation drive in association with HDFC Bank, Amloh Branch. Students and Faculty members took part in it with full enthusiasm. University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated the event by planting some herbal saplings in the compound of Ayurveda College.


Speaking on the occasion he Said, 'By planting trees we return to a more natural, less artificial environment and natural harmony is restored even to the urban environment'.
While giving the details of the programme, university Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that the students planted more than five dozen saplings in the university campus and surrounding areas. These students will not only take care of these plants, but they will also do their research work on these plants. The main objective of this programme was to create awareness among the students about tree plantation and deteriorating environmental situation, he added.






Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur who is CEO of Hara Punjab Khara Samaj (an NGO under the ambit of Desh Bhagat United ) appreciated the initiative taken by the students and the bank.  saying that one of the objectives of our institution is to cover maximum area of Punjab under greenery.
Present on the occasion Director, Faculty of Ayurveda Dr. Kulbhushan praised the students for creating awareness among fellow students. Students also took a pledge to plant maximum trees and inspired others for tree plantation and their protection. They also made posters and banners to spread awareness regarding importance of environmental preservation.

Desh Bhagat University Students Celebrates Rakhi With Slum Area Children

Desh Bhagat University, among best private universities in Punjab (NIRF Ranking, MHRD Govt. of India)  celebrated Rakhi in a unique style. The students of different faculties along with their teachers visited slum area of Amloh.


They tied Rakhi to poor children to celebrate the holy festival of Raksha Bandhan and distributed sweets among them. This goodwill gesture was to inculcate the spirit of helping the poor on festivals among the students and making them feel an integral part of the society. During the drive, students also motivated others to help the needy people.


While giving details, Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh stated that students and their teachers visited the slum areas to celebrate the festival, make the natives aware about cleanliness and distributed sweets.


They spent more than three hours with them to make them feel good, he added. University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated the students for the initiative and said that these students have set an example for others, which is a healthy sign for the future.


The initiative of the students was appreciated by each and everyone. Many social organizations also lauded the step taken by the university students.

University’s 12 Students have been Selected for the next Round of Miss India-2017

Desh Bhagat University among best private universities in Punjab,(NIRF Ranking, MHRD Govt. of India) appreciates the effort put by its students who have brought glory to the institution by getting selected in the prestigious beauty pageant Miss India-2017 contest.


Giving details about the selected students, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur informed that the university’s 12 students of BAMS course (University College of Ayurveda)  have been selected for the next round of Miss India-2017 Contest after completing major round of the pageant held recently at Hotel Holiday Inn, Panchkula. The event was organized by Khadi India, in which contestants from Himachal, Haryana and Punjab participated. Dr. Akhilesh Mishra (CEO,Khaadi Board) graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.


 University’s 12 students won different titles, while 3 students declared first runner-up. Reema Sharma won the title of Miss India Khadi-Jammu, Shweta Sharma was declared 1st runner up of Miss India Khadi-Punjab and Miss Stylish Diva. Priyanka Pulyani (1st Runner up, Miss India Khadi-Haryana), Priyanshi Singh (1st Runner up of Miss India Khadi-Jammu), Shikha Sharma (Miss Talented), Mansi Sharma (Miss Attitude), Darshika (Miss Beautiful Lips), Reena Chauhan (Miss Vivacious), Kumari Rasna (Miss Best Behaviour), Aprana Soni (Miss Beautiful eyes), Priyanka Rawat (Miss Digital Diva), Rajveer Kaur (Miss Body Beautiful) Vrishti Vishnoi (Miss Elegant) and Usha was declared Miss Descent. All the selected students were especially honoured at the campus by the university officials. While congratulating these students, Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that they have made DBU proud. They wished them Good Luck or the upcoming Grand Finale and hoped this time our girls will bring more laurels to DBU.


The students who were in a jubilant mood gave the entire credit for their success to the highly committed teachers who encouraged and guided them. Director Dr. Kulbhushan, Director Dr. Surjit Patheja and faculty members also congratulated these students.

300 Patients Examined During The Medical Camps

Desh Bhagat University, Best Private university in Punjab (2nd Rank, NIRF - MHRD Govt. of India) regularly engages the community in its endeavors to spread useful knowledge that helps people adopt healthier lifestyles. Desh Bhagat Hospital and Desh Bhagat Dental College jointly arranged free medical check-up camps at two different places. Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur inaugurated the camp organized at Gurudwara Rori Sahib, Village Chahal. Here, the team of doctors consisting of Dr. Gulzar Singh (SMO), Dr. Baljeet Singh (CMO), Dr. Nishant Paika (Medical Officer) and team of Dentists Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur, Dr. Tarun and Dr. Kamal examined more than 100 patients. Earlier, the same team examined more than 200 patients at Gurudwara Guptsar Sahib, village Jassra. This camp was arranged in collaboration with PNB Farmer Training Center, Sirhind Branch.



Director, Faculty of Ayurveda, Dr. Kulbhushan informed that the patients were examined and given necessary medical assistance. Medicines were provided free of cost and some laboratory tests were also done free of cost during the camp. The medical teams also advised the people about healthy eating habits, avoid eating overripe and unhygienic fruits and also keep away from junk food. The dental doctors gave demonstration to masses how to use toothbrush and to do it regularly before going to bed.


Desh Bhagat Dental College Principal Dr. Rajiv Bali said that the patients were highly pleased and contented with the treatment and facilities provided by DBU during the medical camp. University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh appreciated the doctors for their services and appealed to the people to get maximum advantage from the services being provided by Desh Bhagat Hospital and Desh Bhagat Dental College.

3 Students Get Job Offer Of Package 2 Cr in DBU Mega Job Fair Total 295 Students Placed

Desh Bhagat University, Best Private university in Punjab (2nd Rank, NIRF - MHRD Govt. of India) organized a Mega Job Fair, ‘Visionzz-18’ at its campus. The fair was targeted at the students who are Graduate, Post Graduate in various streams like Management, Marketing, Hotel Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Ayurveda, Agriculture, Nursing and Pharmacy etc.



While infogiving details, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that the Mega Job Fair was organized in the fond memory of his father Sr. Lal Singh Ji, a renowned Freedom Fighter and an associate of Neta Ji Subhash Chandra Bose, who envisioned the need of educated successful & holistic youth in India.


We cherish his dreams & try to transform the society. In this Mega Event more than 22 well-known National and Multinational companies including Equity Score, Reliance JIO, Touch Stone, IVY Hospital, Acc Limited, Willowood Crop, Competent Synergy, Key Hotels, RNG Group, Blue Chip Tech India, Pix India Pvt. Limited, Hotel Kama, Arora Iron & Steel Rolling Mill  etc. participated.  Officers of these companies selected suitable candidates for different jobs.


 The Fair was attended by a large number of job aspirants from different parts of Punjab and nearby states. The event received huge success as more than 295 candidates were selected through written test and personal interview by different companies and 3 students got job offer of package 2 CR. Dr. Singh congratulated these students and advised them to work with full dedication and prove assets for the organizations in which they are going to start a new phase of life.


University Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur and Vice-chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh wished the selected students bright careers and said that as a part of corporate social responsibility, the university has been organizing such job fairs on regular basis for providing suitable employment opportunities to candidates, not only for its own students but for the students of the whole North India.


They hoped that this job fair will prove a blessing for the students who participated in it. Desh Bhagat United Vice-President Er. Sandeep Singh said that the University organises such Mega Fairs from time to time and this is the 18th Mega Fair to be organised. The fair provided an opportunity to deserving students to get jobs in companies of national as well as international repute. Selected students appreciated the efforts of Desh Bhagat University, ranked in top two private universities in punjab as they felt that they could have never got such a job through their own resources. They also said that the event was very well - organized.

‘Langar Sewa ’ In The Memory Of Late S. Lal Singh Ji

Desh Bhagat University organized a Langar at Desh Bhagat Chowk, Mandi Gobindgarh in the memory of Late. Sr. Lal Singh Ji a veteran freedom fighter and an associate of Neta Ji Subhash Chandar Bose. 





Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor Desh Bhagat University and Chairman Desh Bhagat United, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University and Er. Sandeep Singh Vice President, Desh Bhagat United personally served the Langar (Bread Pakoras and Tea) to the public.



The Langar was organised in the memory of Freedom Fighter S. Lal Singh, father of Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. He remained ever ready to perform corporate social responsibility for the service of the people. Sr. Lal Singh is the inspiring spirit for Desh Bhagat United and Desh Bhagat University. 


His high ideals are the light house for the organisation to serve the society with dignity and humility.

Free Medical Check-Up Camp Series Will Continue : Dr. Zora Singh

Desh Bhagat University, top rank university in Punjab will continue the series of free medical camps to make people aware about health and fitness, which was started in the month of March this year, told Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor Desh Bhagat University. Under this series, the medical teams of Desh Bhagat Hospital and Desh Bhagat Dental College are jointly arranging free medical camps at different places from time to time, he added.


Director Dr. Kulbhushan, while giving details, disclosed that under this series a free medical camp was organized at Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Village Salani. The team of doctors consisting of Dr. Gulzar Singh (SMO), Dr. Baljeet Singh (CMO), Dr. Nishant Paika (Medical Officer), team of Dental Doctors Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur, Dr. Tarun and Dr. Kamal along with the Physiotherapy specialist Dr. Anna examined more than 100 patients.Earlier, the same team examined more than 150 patients at Gurudwara Sahib, Majri Kishne Wali, Amloh. He also informed that the patients were examined and given necessary medical assistance. Medicines were provided free of cost and some tests were also done free of cost during the camp. The medical teams also advised the people about proper eating habits, avoid eating unripe and unhygienic fruits and also keep away from junk food.
