The Two-day long Youth Fest ‘D-Buzz-2019’ concluded with marvelous response and left behind everlasting memories. The valedictory function of the grand event was presided over by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the performances of the students. He further said that the youth are the future of the country and they should shun evil habits like drug addiction and get education so that they can glorify not only themselves but also their state and their country.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh briefed that the Youth Fest provided a platform to the students who have participated in various events. Students belonging to different states not only exhibited their skills but also interacted about their culture and ideas, they added.

The special attraction of final day programme was the live performance by famous Punjabi Singers Pardeep Sran, Jagmeet Bhullar and Parkhjit Singh.  Comedian Umang Sharma stole the show by his performance and enthralled the audience with his joke.

Er. Sandeep Singh (Vice President, Desh Bhagat United) disclosed that on the last day, there were final competition of Bhangra, Gidha, Solo Song and One act Play etc. In Bhangra- Desh Bhagat University in top universities in India and best university in Punjab won first prize, In Giddha - Desh Bhagat University (First) and, In Skit- Jawaharlal Nehru college (First) and DBU (Second), In One Act Play category - DBU (First), In Mimicry DBU (First) and Jawaharlal Nehru collage (Second). Er. Singh especially thanked all the Media persons who were present at the occasion.

Dr. Surjeet Patheja thanked all the guests and expressed happiness over the overwhelming response received by the University for the Success of this mega event. Among top private universities in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University concludes its three-day long Youth Fest ‘D-Buzz-2017’ with a marvellous response from its students leaving behind everlasting memories. Presiding over the valedictory function of the grand event, S. Jaspreet Singh IAS (SDM, Amloh) while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the performances of the students. 

He further said that the youth are the future of the country and they should shun evil habits like drug addiction and get education so that they can glorify not only themselves but also their state and their country.

Over all Trophy was lifted by Desh Bhagat University. Er. Singh especially thanked all the Media persons who were present at the occasion.

The judges who graced the event by their presence included Theatre & Film Artist Rajwinder Singh Samrala, Balram Sharma (National Awardee), Prof. Joginder Pal Singh (Govt. College of Fine Arts, Chandigarh) and Mrs. Paramjit Kaur (Sanghol College of Education).

Provost Dr. Neeliam Jerath and Ms. Gagandeep Sassan (Desh Bhagat Radio 107.8 FM) thanked all the guests and expressed happiness over the overwhelming response received by the University for the Success of this mega event.

Youth Fest ‘D Buzz -2017’ Begins At Desh Bhagat University

Much awaited Youth Festival of best private university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University (2nd Rank - NIRF Ranking, MHRD Govt. of India)  ‘D Buzz -2017’ began today with great pomp and show. The grand event was inaugurated by University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed the hope that students participating in various events will not only showcase their skills but also exchange their new ideas and discoveries.

While welcoming all the guests and the participating teams, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur conveyed her best wishes to the participants and said that the objective of this programme is to bring out the hidden talents of the students and channelize their energies in the right direction.




Giving more details, Vice- Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that on day first of the Youth Fest the students from different colleges and universities participated with full zeal and exhibited their talents through different competitions.
 

The competitions held on the first day included Poster Making on different themes, Rangoli, Collage Making, Face Painting, Quiz, Candle and Diya Decoration, Solo Song (Folk, Classical, Ghazal, Western etc.), Group Song, Folk Dance, Mimicry and Skit etc. The main attraction of the first day was folk dances of North East states of India. The students performed excellently and got huge rounds of applause.

Director Dr. Kulbhushan, thanked all the guests and told the audience that on the third and final day of the Youth Fest, famous Punjabi Signer Mehtab Virk and few others will give their performances and add to the thrill of the event.

District Youth Festival-2017 Concludes At Desh Bhagat University

District Youth Festival-2017 concluded at Desh Bhagat University with marvelous response and left behind everlasting memories. The event was organised in collaboration with Directorate of Youth Services, Punjab and in association with Assistant Director Youth Services, Fatehgarh Sahib. The valedictory function was presided over by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the performances of each and every college teams which participated in the youth festival. Sr. Balvinder Singh Malhi, (Principal, Cordia College, Sanghol) was the chief guest on this occasion.



Giving more details, Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur said that the last day of the festival was observed as Youth Day which is/was dedicated to Swami Vivekanand Ji. On this occasion/In this concern Desh Bhagat PG School of Dental Sciences organised a Blood Donation Camp, in which students and staff members contributed 27 units of blood.



The special attraction of the last day programme was the finals of different cultural activities.Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh disclosed that on the last day, there were final competition of  Traditional and Cultural activities like Bhangra, Gidha, Solo Song and Mimicry etc. In Bhangra- Cordia College, Sanghol won first prize while Desh Bhagat University got Second position, In Giddha.

In Riwayti Lok Kala Muqabla, Naala Bunna- Kamaljeet Kaur and Gagandeep Kaur, Pakkhi- Kuljeet Kaur, Fulkari-Kamaljeet Kaur, Chhiku- Harleen Kaur and Sarabjeet Kaur , all from Pine Grove College Of Education, Bassi Pathana were declared the winners.

Desh Bhagat University's Youth Festival 'D BUZZ-2016' FROM TODAY

Desh Bhagat University is organizing a Youth Festival ‘D BUZZ-2016’ at its campus from today 25th October. While giving details of this fest, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that colleges from different parts of Punjab and other states will participate.

Around 4000 students are expected to participate in the fest and they will exhibit their talent and skills in different cultural events. A major goal of the Youth Fest is to provide a platform for students to showcase their breakthroughs, accomplishments and talents in different fields.

The fest will conclude with an exclusive Star Singing Show, which will witness a performance by renowned Punjabi singers like Ninja and the heart beat of the youths Nimrat Khaira.

Dr. Singh further said that  the university has all set for this major event and during the fest, students will participate in several competitions including Cultural Activities like Bhangra, Giddha, Singing, Dance, Rangoli, Fine Arts , Literary activities and Mehndi etc. Winners of the competitions will be awarded certificate and cash prizes, he added.

The festival proved a source of healthy entertainment and presented a picture of rich Punjabi Culture and Heritage. University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated the mega event and said that such an event proves a source of knowledge and recreation, wherein the youth gets a direction to prove its skills gets practical exposure.  Mata Jarnail Kaur Ji, mother of Dr. Zora Singh was especially present on this occasion to bless the students.

Star attraction of the event was the performances of Fashion Show, Bhangra & Gidha. A student from South Sudan named Reja Noel stole the show and got everyone’s applauding by singing a Hindi film song. The students who bagged positions in different events were honored by the university.
University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the initiative and appealed to the students to keep away from all kind of drugs. Director Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Director Amit Sachdeva and staff members from different faculties were also present on this occasion.
