Dr. J.S Bhatia, Director cum Professor from best university in Punjab and in top universities in India Desh Bhagat
University and an International HAZMAT (Hazardous Material) specialist and
Disaster Management expert gave a special training session on ' Disaster Management and CBRN Emergencies
in India', at ITBP Academy, Mussoorie for the faculty and participant senior
police officers’ of Senior Command Management Course (SCMC). Dr. Bhatia
emphasized, that with every development process, hazards also develops. With a
single disaster, years of development resets back to zero level. The element of
hazard mitigation and disaster management should be inculcated in every
development process so as to achieve our dream of sustainable development. Dr.
Bhatia revealed the threats of Nuclear warfare, Chemical and Biological attacks
and how the terrorists’ all over the world are moving towards non – conventional
attacks. He gave the officers’ the tips to develop the counter measures
preparedness to be carried on. He further emphasized on the need of safety and
security in our educational institutes to avoid incidents like terrorists'
attack incidents that took place in a military school in Pakistan, recently.
Dr. Bhatia further said that educational institutions and universities should
not think just commercially but should develop an attitude of nation building
by inculcating practical and moral values to students who are to form the
'future of India'. In his closing address, Sh. Parvinder Singh, Commandant of
ITBP Academy thanked Dr. J.S. Bhatia and Desh Bhagat University for accepting the invitation and giving such
thoughts provoking session to gear up
the preparedness and training processes
for non-traditional warfare and emergencies among the officers’. University
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh appreciates the efforts of Dr. J S Bhatia and said
that students should take advantages from his guidance.

A Guest Lecture On Interviewing Skills And Career Counseling At Desh Bhagat University In The Best University In Punjab

In the best university in Punjab and in the top universities in India, Desh Bhagat University Organized a
guest lecture on ‘Interviewing Skills, Career Counseling and Personality
Improvement’ for the students of Management, Computer Science and Commerce
classes. The program was arranged by the Training and Placement Department of the university. The learned speaker on this occasion was Mr. Prince Kalia,
Manager-HR, IDS Infotech Ltd., Chandigarh.
While addressing the students, Mr.
Kalia exhorted them to set a mission in their life, plan strategy to achieve
that and take lessons from all their failures. The learned speaker said that
success always walks with everyone but due to circumstances, lack of vision and
management techniques, it seems elusive. He said that First Impression is the
last impression and you will not get another chance to prove yourself so be
polite, confident and active at the time of interview. For an interviewee Art
of self-presentation, Body language, Effective Communication, and Way of
Dressing also matter.
In his two hours power-packed lecture,
he discussed several points like Team Work, Spirit and Self Confidence, etc. and
shared his views regarding how to overcome obstacles and how to achieve
success. The students evinced a keen interest in the lecture and during the
interaction session, they asked relevant questions on different topics which
the learned speaker answered to their entire satisfaction. The students were
quite happy to attend this lecture and said the views expressed by the speaker
have boosted their morale to do big in life.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh
and Pro-Chancellor Ms. Tajinder Kaur expressed their happiness and said that
such events are very useful for students and this will help in their
multi-functional growth. At the end of the program, Vice
Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh thanked the learned speaker for sparing his
valuable time for the students and hoped that it will prove quite useful for
them.

Desh Bhagat University Students Visit Kitty Industries

Desh Bhagat University organized an
Industrial Visit for its MBA, BBA & B.Com – Pre Final year students at
Kitty Industries, Ludhiana. The objective of this visit was to make the
students familiar with the current trends in the competitive world by sharing
knowledge, ideas and skills with those of the people from the industry.
Students and teachers took a complete
round of Kitty Industries along with Kitty official team members where students
were given brief information about various departments like Grinding, Baking
and Packing Departments of the Industry. The official team showed the
Production & Packaging of Breads to the students so that students are able
to get inputs about production and packing process of Breads. They briefed to
the students that Kitty Industries is one of the largest manufacturers of bread
and Bakery products in Punjab. The students while interacted with officials
asked relevant questions to clear their doubts and Kitty Industries team
answered the queries put forward by students which enriched the knowledge of
students as well.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh
and Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur appreciated the initiative taken jointly by
Training and Placement department. They conveyed their best wishes to the
students saying that they should get maximum industrial exposure to become time
and market relevant. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that the
university organises such educational and industrial visits frequently for the
benefit of the students.
All the students were quite happy to visit the Kitty
Industries saying that it was a good experience for them. They thanked the

Desh Bhagat Institute Of Management And Computer Sciences Organises Inter College Kho Kho Tournament

Desh Bhagat Institute of Management and Computer Sciences organised a
three-day Inter College Kho-Kho Tournament (Girls) of Punjabi
University, Patiala. A total of 11 teams of girls, from different
colleges participated in this tournament. Chairman of Desh Bhagat Group
of Institutes and Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Zora Singh
and Vice Chairperson of Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes and Pro
Chancellor Desh Bhagat University Ms. Tejinder Kaur inaugurated the
final day event and said that games and sports are an essential part of
our life and these have educational as well as recreational value.
While presiding over the Prize Distribution function, they patted the backs of all the players for their excellent performance. Speaking on the occasion, Vice- Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Shalini Gupta said that Kho Kho is one of the oldest games of our country and is still being played in several parts of the country. To promote and revive such traditional games there is a great need of Kho Kho league like Football and Kabaddi leagues. She appreciated all the teams for their excellent performance. The final matches of the tournament were particularly thrilling and breath-taking and players were struggling hard for even a single point. The result of the tournament was as under: 1. Desh Bhagat College, Dhuri (First Position) 2. Govt. College for Physical Education, Patiala ( Second Position) 3. University College, Moonak (Third Position) The Tournament was a source of great education and entertainment for the students and staff of the different colleges. All the players and coaches of the teams appreciated the arrangements made by the host institute. The members of Kho Kho official committee sent by Punjabi University were also honoured for their services during the tournament.

Guest Lecture On ‘entrepreneur Development’ Organised At Desh Bhagat University

Training & Placement Department of Desh Bhagat University organised a
guest lecture on ‘Entrepreneur Development’ for its all MBA, BBA and
B.Tech. students to enhance their knowledge and to give them practical
exposure. The main focus of this event was to develop in them
entrepreneurship qualities as by 2020 India will be having 60% of youth
population in the age group of 25- 30 years, who will struggle hard to
establish themselves. The key note speaker and chief guest on this
occasion was Mr. Harjinder Singh Cheema, Founder & Chairperson of
Cheema Boilers limited, Mohali. While, interacting with the students,
the learned speaker encouraged the students to go with a vision so that
they may start their own business ventures rather than searching for a
job after completing studies. He said that to establish their own
business or to become an entrepreneur is not so easy but today’s youth
is blessed with latest and advanced technology and with a vision and
hard work, they can achieve their goals. He exhorted the students to
dream big and become their own boss. The students evinced a keen
interest in the lecture and asked relevant questions to clear their
doubts. The expert speaker also shared his life history to motivate them
and the students felt inspired a lot. University Chancellor, Dr.
Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur expressed the view that such
events are very useful for young generation, especially for students.
It will help them in their multi-functional growth. University Vice
Chancellor, Dr.Shalini Gupta averred that such academic progrmmes prove
quite useful for the students as these give them first hand knowledge
and practical exposure. At the end of the programme, the university
Registrar Dr. Virinder Singh, thanked the learned speaker and hoped that
it will prove quite useful for the students and faculty members.
Controller Examination Dr. I.S. Sethi, Director Faculty of Engineering
Dr. P. S. Cheema and Directors of different faculties were also present

Best Bachelor Of Commerce University Desh Bhagat University Students Shine In Biz-quiz

Best bachelor of commerce university and best b.com college in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Management and Commerce students, Manpreet Singh Gill and Lovepreet Singh of MBA Final have brought glory to the university by winning second position in Biz Quiz contest. This quiz was organised during VIBGYOR-15, the annual fest of Baba Farid Group of Institutions, held recently at Bathinda. The quiz event was based on IQ quizzes, Brain Teaser, Reasoning and Business related issues. More than 44 teams of different institutes from across the whole north region were in the fray. The team of both DBU students entered the final and after tough competition, they were declared runner-up and awarded with cash prize of Rs. 5100.
This was disclosed by Pro Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Ms. Tejinder Kaur. While felicitating the students, she said that educative events like quiz contests, debates and group discussions are an integral part of our education and to promote the same among students, Desh Bhagat University provides all types of incentives and facilities to the outstanding students.
Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, while congratulating the students over their achievement, said that these students have proved that they are different from the rest and also capable of achieving great victories in every field. Vice Chancellor Dr. Shalini Gupta and Pro vice-chancellor Dr. Shantnu Chatterjee also congratulated both the students and wished that they will make still higher achievements in their future lives.
