Anatomy Department of Desh Bhagat Dental College and

was organized Cadeveric Oath ceremony for BDS first year students. The true
purpose of this oath-taking ceremony is to pay homage to the person who donated
his body for the purpose of education.
Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that

experiments. At the end of program, he also appealed to the staff members,

Desh Bhagat Hospital organized a mega medical check-up
camp.A team of expert doctors with
Ayurveda department staff members examined 248 patients in the camp. The camp
was inaugurated by Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh.
While giving details, Dr. Jyoti H. Dhami said that the team
which examined the patients was led by Dr. Baljeet Singh, Chief Medical Officer
of the Desh Bhagat Hospital. He disclosed that most of the patients examined by
the team were suffering from Heart Diseases, Hypertension, Gastrointestinal
Disorders, Low Eye Vision and Anemia etc. Laboratory and Radiological tests
were done on discounted rates and Medicines were provided free of cost. Some
tests were also done free of cost. The medical team advised the people about proper
eating habits, avoid going outside in cold weather without covering head and
face, avoid eating unhealthy food and wash eyes with normal water and also use
sunglasses when needed.

celebrated WorldOrthodontic Day under the theme of “Smile
is a Lifetime Gift”. The WFO (World
Federation of Orthodontists) has decided to celebrate World Orthodontic Health
Day in May, a day that orthodontists around the world can celebrate and
highlight orthodontics. The event was
inaugurated with cake cutting ceremony by Chief Guest, University
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur. University
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that such programs are very helpful for the
people, especially for the rural area people in making them aware.
In this program,
students of Dental College participated with full enthusiasm. As part of this
program, students create awareness regarding Orthodontic. Students participated
in Declamation Competition and Poster Presentation Competition.

of World Orthodontic Day. She also appreciated the performances of

Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital, a constituent of Desh Bhagat University observed World No Tobacco Day. The dental students of different classes participated in it and organized awareness drives against tobacco products at different places.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh encouraged the dental students and staff to put every effort to make people aware about the ill effects of tobacco on human health.
The team led by Dr. Rajvir Kaur Grewal (Reader, Dept. of Oral Pathology) made the people aware about oral health. Dr. Tamanna Soni, Dr. Sonal Bhatia and Dr. Gagandeep Singh Ghansi conducted awareness talk with migrant workers and labourers highlighting about devastating harms of tobacco which might lead to Cancer. The team also motivated tobacco users to visit tobacco cessation centre at DBDC.
Giving more details, Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur informed that the team consisted of Dr. Prabhjot, Dr. Monika Kalia and Dr. Jasvir counseled the patients on lifestyle changes such as reducing tobacco use and also provided solution to reduce tobacco related death and disease at Desh Bhagat Chowk.
In another move, Dr. Rajvir Grewal along with the team visited Desh Bhagat Global School and addressed the students from 8th to 11th class as this age group is most easily vulnerable to sell tobacco products. The students were made aware about different forms of tobacco and explained about its harmful effects on individual physically, mentally and socially. The students also took a pledge to refrain from the use of tobacco and adopted the motto, ‘Say No to Tobacco and Yes to Life’.
Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital, Mandi Gobindgarh, a constituent of Desh Bhagat University has got permission to admit students in MDS Course for the academic session 2018-19. The Dental Council of India (DCI) & Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare) have approved the proposal of Desh Bhagat Dental College for granting 9 seats in Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course to meet the higher education needs of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) graduates.
Disclosing this, Dr. Zora Singh, Chairman, Desh Bhagat United said, ‘The Central Government has accepted the recommendation of DCI and conveyed its approval to allow admitting the batch of students in MDS course in the specialty of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics (2 seats), Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics (2 seats), Prosthodontics and crown & Bridge (2 seats) vide letter number No.V.12017/10/2017-DE(Pt.VI) dt. 27.2.2018 and Periodontology (3 seats) vide Letter No.V.12017/10/2017-DE(Pt.V) dt. 21.2.2018, for the academic session 2018-19. The Govt of Punjab gave the accent for 9 MDS seats vide letter No.2/59/2016-3MER-III/1310 dt.19.3.2018.

However the counseling for these seats will be done by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences on 5 April 2018 for all post graduate dental institutes of the state including those of private universities. He further told that DBDC & H after shifting from Sri Muktsar Sahib to Mandi Gobindgarh in the campus of DBU is affiliated to Desh Bhagat University.
Dr. Singh expressed his gratitude to the Government of India & DCI and Govt. of Punjab for granting the approval. He congratulated the Management, Principal, Staff and Students of the Institute for this achievement and also thanked all those who extended their support to this endeavour.

Desh Bhagat University’s IEDC department organised first of its kind Kisan Mela in the Campus. The event was organized by Agriculture and Food processing incubator of DBU-IEDC. The event provided a platform to the farmers and agricultural experts to interact and share their knowledge about latest techniques, equipments and subsidiary occupations.
In best University in Punjab Desh Bhagat University Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur inaugurated this Mega Event. Speaking on the occasion they hoped that this Kisan Mela will prove a blessing for the farmers and students of agriculture courses.
Dr. Manjit Singh Kang (Former VC, PAU) was the Keynote Speaker. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kang said that Farming is a profitable business if we do it with latest techniques and proper planning. He also advised the farmers to follow the directions of PAU Experts which they give from time to time for the better productions. He also advised the farmers to get full knowledge about production of crops, its processing and marketing to gain better profit.
Punjab Agriculture Development Chairman Darshan Singh Babbi urged the farmers to make cooperative societies for better return of the crops.
