German And Chinese Delegation Visits Desh Bhagat University In The Best University In Punjab

Two delegations consisting of university and college students from China and Germany visited Desh Bhagat University in the best university in Punjab and participated in the International Youth Cultural Exchange Programme at the university. The coordinator of these delegations was Ms. Bawra Shergill, a member of Friends of China. Chinese delegation was led by Mr. Xiong Liang and German delegation was headed by Mr. Marcel Scharf.

The objective of the programme was to enhance proximity between India, China and Germany, through educational and cultural collaboration. While welcoming the delegates, Pro Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Ms. Tajinder Kaur said that a large number of students from different countries are pursuing studies in the University. She said that such cultural and leadership exchange programmes dismantled the barriers between different nations as the youth all over the world face same challenges, share same responsibilities and nurture same aspirations. Desh Bhagat University Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh welcomed the delegates and expressed the hope that their visit to India in general and to Desh Bhagat University in particular will prove quite fruitful and they will return to their country with lot of knowledge, exposure and sweet memories. While speaking on the occasion Vice- Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that DBU has the educational facilities of international standard and students coming from abroad are provided homely environment to enable them pursue their courses in the best possible way. Faculty and students of Desh Bhagat University interacted with the delegates on different topics like leadership, management, higher education and cultural matters. The delegates expressed pleasure and satisfaction over the visit saying that it has added to their knowledge and experience. They also took round of the campus of the university and apart from the other departments; they evinced keen interest in Hotel Mangement and Airlines Department. A cultural event was organised for the delegates in whom the host university students presented Gujrati, Punjabi and Himachali folk songs and a colourful cultural programme. The Chinese and German students also exhibited their talent by participating in different events and through their folk dances and songs.

Delegation Of African Countries Visits Desh Bhagat University The Best University In India


Best University In Punjab- Desh Bhagat University
A delegation from African countries visited Desh Bhagat University, the best university in Punjab and in the top universities in India. The delegation consisted of Daniel Peter Otol (Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan), Bothath Tsikoane, (High Commissioner for Lesotho) and Dr. Remacle Maswaku Gatela (First Counsellor, Democratic Republic of Congo). The coordinator of the delegation was Mr. Deepak Vohra (Special Advisor to Prime Minister Lesotho and Guinea-Bissau). The objective of this visit was to enhance proximity between India and South African countries through educational and cultural exchange.

While welcoming the delegates, Pro-Chancellor of the university Ms. Tejinder Kaur said that a large number of students from different countries are taking education in Desh Bhagat University. She further remarked that DBU has the educational facilities of international standard and students coming from abroad are provided homely environment to enable them to pursue their courses in the best possible way.

The delegates took a round of the campus of the university. Apart from Ayurveda, Agriculture, Education, Engineering, Hotel Management, Nursing, and some other departments, they evinced a keen interest in the Airplane Simulation Room of the Airlines Department. They also interacted with the faculty and students of the university on different topics like leadership, management, higher education, and cultural matters. A cultural event was organized for the delegation in which the university students presented Gujrati, Bangali, Punjabi and Himachali folk songs, and a colorful cultural program.

Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan Mr. Daniel Peter Othol expressed pleasure and satisfaction over the visit saying that it has been a highly educative and entertaining experience for them. Mr. Bothath Tsikoane, (High Commissioner for Lesotho) and Dr. Remacle Maswaku Gatela (First Counselor, Democratic Republic of Congo) said that such visits dismantled the barriers between different nations as the youth all over the world face same challenges, share same responsibilities and nurture same aspirations. All the delegates appreciated the university authorities for providing state of the art infrastructure to the students.

Chancellor Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Zora Singh expressed the hope that their visit to India in general and to Desh Bhagat University, in particular, will prove quite fruitful and they will return to their countries with a good impression and sweet memories.

Dbu Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh Meets Nri Delegates


The NRI’s are making remarkable contribution in the field of Agriculture, Industry, Technology & Education and they want to see their country touch new heights. This was stated by Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. ZoraSingh while giving details of his meetings with the NRI’s, who had come to India from different countries. He said that India is the fastest developing country of the world and every country is desirous of co-operation with it. It is evident from the response got by the Parvasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD) summit held recently in Gujrat. Dr. Singhdisclosed that he attended this three day programme along with Pro Chancellor Ms. Tajinder Kaur and interacted with a number of successful NRI entrepreneurs and businessmen. The response of these NRI’s is very positive for establishing their ventures in India which will strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.



Dr. Singh informed that during this summit, they had also met some of the Central Ministers having different portfolio and had talks with them on several topics. These ministers include Dr. Harsh Vardhan (Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences ), Shri Birender Singh ( Minister of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Sanitation) and Shri Mahesh Sharma (Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation ).

Dr. Zora Singh also had talks with Dr. Satish Batra (Chairman and President of Horizon Industries ) Germany for Academia -Industry partnership with Desh Bhagat University and these were very positive. The bilateral talk with Shri Kanwaljeett Singh Bakhshi (Member Parliament from New Zealand) on Dairy Technology , its latest techniques and courses was also fruitful.



He discussed with H.E. Mr. Donald R. Ramotar  (President of the Republic of Guyana) about the prospects of starting a technical and  academic programs with Guyana  by  Desh Bhagat University .

For the improvement in health education and facilities, Dr. Singh had a meeting with Dr. Ravi Jahagirdar (President of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin USA), about the possibility of interdisciplinary health care systems in tie ups with them. For making a debut of Desh Bhagat University in Malaysia in the field of Ayurveda, they met Dato  Seri Utama S. Samivellu (Special Envoy to India from Malaysia) and with an ambassador from Mallavi.  Dr. Singh also talked with Dr. Devi Shetty (Founder of Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore and Cayman Islands) on bilateral issues.




Dr. Singh said that talks with all the NRI’s were very fruitful and the collaboration with foreign institutes and universities will strengthen the relations between both countries and students of both sides will get a chance to learn in international environment.
