Desh Bhagat University Students Win First And Second Positions In National Level Dance And Drama Competition

Desh Bhagat University students have brought glory to the institution by winning first and second positions respectively in different events of the 28th National Level Dance and Drama Competition held recently at Solan in Himachal Pradesh. This All India Dance and Drama Competition was organised by Fylfot Forum, Solan and in this competition, 27 teams of students from 19 states of the country participated. It’s an annual function which is being organised for the last 28 years. In the boys Traditional Dress Competition, Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Media student Ankush and Vishal got first and second places respectively. In girls Traditional Dress Competition, Faculty of Media Student Amrita and Faculty of Art & Craft Student Karan Sandhu bagged first and second places respectively. Bhangra Team of the University in senior category also did very well. They were placed second with the margin of just half mark but it won the hearts of the audience. While congratulating the students University Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shalini Gupta said that by winning top positions in the National level competition, these students have glorified not only the name of the university but of our state too. University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur also congratulated the winning students and expressed that the main objective of the university is to give quality education to its students to make them employable and also to keep them in touch with our rich cultural heritage. They also congratulated the staff behind their success for their dedication and commitment to work. The students who bagged positions in the competition were honoured by the university. Registrar Dr. Varinder Singh and Controller Examinations Dr. I.S. Sethi congratulated the students on their achievement.
