NSS Department of Desh Bhagat University organised a blood donation camp
in association with Rotary Blood Bank, Sec-37, Chandigarh in which
members of the staff, students of different faculties and volunteers
donated 83 units of blood. Desh Bhagat University Vice Chancellor Dr.
S.S. Chahal was the Chief Guest on this occasion. While inaugurating the
camp, he said that donating blood means saving precious lives and the
students should come forward in large numbers for this service of
mankind. While speaking on the occasion, university Pro Vice-Chancellor
Dr. Shalini Gupta said that blood donation is one of the best services
of humanity. Desh Bhagat University has been organising such blood
donation camps on regular basis and students remain ever ready to
contribute to this noble cause. Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr.
Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Ms. Tejinder Kaur in their joint message
stated that donating blood is donating life and students should set an
example for others by becoming regular blood donors and donating maximum
units of blood. The camp was highly successful and the enthusiasm shown
by the young students and volunteers of NSS was exemplary. The medical
team was led by Dr. Manish and Dr. Soodan along with 9 members.The Blood
Collection team distributed certificates, refreshment and badges to the
blood donors. Besides the faculty and the students, Registrar Dr.
Varinder Singh, Controller Examination Dr. I.S. Sethi, Director
Innovation, Planning and Development Chetan Gupta were also present on
this occasion. All the dignitaries highly appreciated the contribution
of the students for their zeal and dedication.
