18th Punjab Science Congress At Desh Bhagat University From 7th To 9th February

Desh Bhagat University is organising three day18th Punjab Science Congress from 7th to 9th February on the theme "Innovative Trends of Science & Technology in Current Scenario” in collaboration with Punjab Academy of Sciences. Scientists, Research Scholars, Teachers, Students and representatives of Industry from all over Punjab and from some other states have been invited to participate in this event. While giving details, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that during this three day long programme, participant will present their research papers in Agriculture Sciences, Food & Sugar Technologies, Bio Sciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Pure and Applied Physics, Mathematical Sciences, Nanotechnology, Medical, Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences, All Branches of Engineering and  Technology including Textile Technology and Computational Sciences etc.  Dr. Singh disclosed that the eminent space scientist and former Chairman of Indian Space Research Agency (ISRO) Dr. U. R. Rao will be the part of the event via video conferencing. Dr. Singh informed that the chief guest on this occasion will be Dr. S. K. Salwan Vice-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University. The inaugural address will be delivered by Dr. R. C. Sobti, (Vice-Chancellor, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow), while Dr. Santokh S. Badesha (Executive Director, Xerox Corporation, USA) will be the key-note speaker. Dr. S.S. Gosal, President, Punjab Academy of Sciences will preside over the function, he added. During this event, selected scientists and research scholars will be honoured with Life Time Achievement Award, Honorary Fellowship, Bhagwan Das Oration Award and Young Scientist Award in different categories. Desh Bhagat Sardar Lal Singh Oration Award will be given to Dr. Raj Bahadur (Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Science, Faridkot).
