Guru Nanak Dev University won the championship
North Zone Inter University Football (Girls) Championship was
organized from December 24 to 30 at best university in Punjab and in top universities in India Desh Bhagat
University. 28 teams participated in this tournament with great enthusiasm and
discipline. The final match of this tournament was held between Guru Nanak Dev
University, Amritsar and Delhi University, in which GNDU Amritsar's team won
the trophy. Punjab University, Chandigarh and MDU, Rohtak came in third and
fourth place respectively.
Desh Bhagat University’s Chancellor Dr. Zora
Singh encouraged all teams during prize distribution ceremony. He said
that winning in sports is not as important as participating in sports. He
encouraged all the students to take part in the Games. Vice-Chancellor Dr.
Virender Singh said that a healthy body consists of a healthy brain and
with sports we can maintain our health.
