In Best University in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Organises Boot Camp On Innovation And Enterpreneurship

In best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University’s IEDC department in collaboration with Punjab Information and Technology Corporation, Govt. of Punjab organized a ‘Boot Camp on Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ at its campus. Students from different faculties participated in it. This Boot camp was focused on creating awareness among students of various Government Schemes, interactive sessions with other start-ups, mentors etc. and the opportunity to network..


         University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur inaugurated the event. They said that such events are source of major information from which students get a direction to showcase their skills, gets practical exposure and knowledge about new start ups. Mr. Sunil Chawla (DGM, Punjab Info Tech) was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He encouraged the students to develop New Ideas to fulfil their dream projects and get the benefits provided by the state government for their new start ups. He also briefed about the different projects recently started by the young entrepreneurs with the help of state government agencies. Mr. H. S. Cheema (MD, Cheema Boilers), Gurvinder Sohi (National Farmer Awardee) and Ashish Kaushik (Practitioner C.A) graced the event as special guests. They shared their experiences with the students and motivated them never to give in.


           










Earlier, the event began with Start Up Marathon in which students participated with full enthusiasm. Dr. Shalini Gupta (IEDC) informed that there was a competition among the startups in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation named 'The Idea Generation Competition' which was in association with Punjab Info-tech (Govt of Punjab). The students who came up with unique ideas were awarded with a prize money of Rs.5000, Rs.4000 & Rs. 3000 to 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions respectively and certification as well. Department of Fine Arts of the university arranged an exhibition showcasing creations of the students. Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism organized the Vyanjan Celebration, demonstrated different kind of foods prepared by the students. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the initiative of IEDC and appealed to the students to prove their talent through this kind of programmes. Vice-Principal Dr. Sanjiv Soni, Directors, HoD’S, Dr. Monika and staff members from different faculties were also present at the occasion.
