Art Exhibition 'Prayaas-2015' At Desh Bhagat University

Fine Arts Department of Faculty of Design, Desh Bhagat University organized an Exhibition cum Art Festival 'Paryaas-2015' During the three days long exhibition students of fine arts showcased their talent and creative skills through Sculpturing, Sketching, Graphic Design, Paper Cutting, 3-D Modelling, Composition Painting, Portrait, Sketching and drawing etc.


The event was inaugurated by University Pro Chancellor Ms. Tajinder Kaur. Addressing the students she appreciated the creativity and functioning of the students saying that today the scope of Fine Arts has widened and the professionals are making handsome earnings. S. Jagdeep Singh Garcha from Department of Fine Arts, Punjabi University Patiala was the chief guest on the occasion. He said that Artists express their feelings and what is in their minds through objects and sometimes their creations speaks without saying anything. Interacting with students, he also explained in detail about the different techniques and precautions necessary for making of Paintings and Sculptures.



Renowned artists S. Balwinder Singh from Khanna and Mr. R. K. Nigam from Dehradoon were guest of honour, who shared his experiences as an artist in different parts of the country and abroad. A delegation/team of artists consisting of Pritpal Singh, Navdeep Singh and Kamaljeet Singh from Sobha Singh Memorial Art Group, Jagraon especially came to honour the winner students who had participated in the exhibition at Jagraon earlier. The names of the students are Inderjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Sanpreet Kaur, Sameena Bano, Raman Kumari and Bimal. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh appreciated the artistic creations of the students saying that this event has been organised to acquaint the students with the latest trends in art industry at the international level. University Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh thanked all the guests for sharing their valuable views and expressed pleasure at the overwhelming response to this event by students and staff.
