Desh Bhagat University organised an academic, cultural and technical
festival ' Tech Fest 2014 ' at its campus for school students. Over 1800
students of 10+2 stage from 25 schools along with their teachers
participated in this mega event. Many Principals of government and
non-government senior secondary schools from different parts of the
state also took part in this festival. While talking about the event Pro
Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Shalini Gupta said that the aim
of this mega fest is to provide the young students an opportunity to
demonstrate their talent, develop their technical skills and guide them
about the selection of suitable careers. The students visited the
campus and saw various labs, libraries, digital class rooms, live
projects and studio etc. of different university schools. The main
attraction of this event was the Air Show organised by students of
Aeronautical Department, who demonstrated their self-made aero models.
The fest comprised indoor/outdoor games, model demonstration, lectures
by experts, cultural events and quiz contest etc. The university school
of engineering organised an educative exhibition the occasion on this
occasion. Desh Bhagat University Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh and Pro
Chancellor Tajinder Kaur said that Desh Bhagat University aims at the
harmonious development of the personalities of the students and for this
purpose; it provides all types of incentives and facilities for
co-curricular activities to its students. They thanked the guests and
the participating schools for their wholehearted cooperation and said
that such programmes play a vital role in the all-round development of
the students. The Principals and the teachers of different schools
appreciated the initiative of Desh Bhagat University saying that this
will help the students to enhance their knowledge, sharpen their skills
and prepare them for their future careers. Participating students
enjoyed the event to the full and said that it will be a memorable event
for them.
