Desh Bhagat University celebrated 67th Republic Day with great fervour
and enthusiasm. Students from different faculties, staff members and NSS
Volunteers participated in the celebration. The National Flag was
hoisted by university Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh. Speaking on
the occasion, he felicitated the participants and emphasized that they
should respect and remember those martyrs whose sacrifices brought
freedom to our country and we are enjoying this freedom. He exhorted the
students that they should make the spirit of cooperation, social
responsibility and patriotism a part of their lives.
University Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor, Tajinder Kaur
observed that all Indians should be united and there should be a spirit
in everyone, especially in the youth, to do something for the country so
that we may make India a Developed country. The students presented a
colourful cultural programme consisting of patriotic and nationalistic
songs, poems etc. Sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
Directors of different Faculties and other officials of the university
were also present on the occasion.
