NSS Department of Desh Bhagat University organised a Mega Blood Donation
camp in association with Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Mandi
Gobingarh. While inaugurating the camp, University Chancellor Dr. Zora
Singh and Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur said that donating blood is one
of the best services of humaniÕÕty and the students should come forward
in large numbers for this service of mankind. While giving information
to media about the camp, University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shalini Gupta
said that students of different faculties, members of the staff and
volunteers participated in this camp and donated 160 units of blood. She
said that the University has been organising such blood donation camps
on regular basis and students remain ever ready to contribute to this
noble cause. The camp was a part of the nationwide Mega Blood Donation
Drive-2014 which was organised under the inspiration of Acharya
Mahashraman Ji by Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad. The target of
this drive was to set a new world record. A four member team of
Guinness Book of Records was present as eyewitnesses. The camp was
highly successful and the enthusiasm shown by the young students was
exemplary. The Blood Collection teams were from Life Line Blood Center,
Patiala and Blood Bank Fatehgarh Sahib. The organisers distributed
certificates, refreshment and badges to the blood donors. Besides, the
faculty and the students, Registrar Dr. Varinder Singh and Controller
Examinations Dr. I. S. Sethi were also present on this occasion. Sh.
Sunil Khullar, President Terapnth Sabha, Naresh Mittal President
Terapnth Yuvak Sabha, All the dignitaries present on this occasion
highly appreciated the contribution of the students for their zeal and
dedication.
