Dr. Pardeep Singh Cheema Joins In Desh Bhagat University As Director, Faculty Of Engineering

Desh Bhagat University has appointed Dr. Pardeep Singh Cheema, Former Professor of Jazan University, Saudi Arabia and Former Professor/Principal of SLIET as Director-Principal, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Dr. Cheema has a long teaching and administrative experience and had been associated with Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) Longowal, for over 17 years on different posts in the department of Computer Science and Engineering. Before joining Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Cheema had been with Jazan University, Saudi Arabia as a Professor. Dr. Cheema has done his MS in Software Systems from BITS, Pilani and Ph.D on Soft Computing for Medical Images Retrieval. He is also an MBA and has authored a number of books. His research work and thesis have been published in many national and international journals and papers. He is also a member of various international forums like IEEE, ACM etc. While talking about his vision for the university, Dr. Cheema said, “Research is one of the strongest points of Desh Bhagat University, and we will further leverage it to develop our scientific and R&D capabilities and take this institution to new heights.” While congratulating him on joining, the university Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Tejinder Kaur and Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shalini Gupta wished him all the best and said that the students will get a lot of benefit from his long and exemplary educational experiences and it will helps them immensely.
