Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Computer Science and Application
students exhibited their excellence in the All India Android Apps
Development Competition and won second place. Two MCA-II students,
Deepak Kumar and Jatinder Singh of the Department of Computer Science
participated in 'Cognizance -2014', an annual technical fest of Indian
Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee (Uttarakhand). The event named
'Apps Fluxes' was a National Android App Development Championship, in
which more than 30 teams of different institutes took part from all over
the country. Congratulating students on their achievement, University
Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shalini Gupta said that the university team
named Desh Bhagat University Tigers entered in the final after a tough
competition and both the students did very well and got second position.
These students have been given a cheque of Rs. Five Thousand by the
organisers. It's worth mentioning that in this tech fest more than
20,000 students from 180 campuses showed their talent in a span of three
power packed days. Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh,
Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur and Vice Chancellor Dr S.S. Chahal while
congratulating the students over this achievement said that it is the
result of the able guidance and hard work done by teachers as well as
the students. Registrar Dr. Virinder Singh and Director Nidhi Gupta
expressed their happiness and congratulated the students expressing the
hope that they will continue to work still harder and reach new heights
in future. The students who were in a jolly mood give the whole credit
for their achievement to the highly committed teachers, state-of-the-art
infrastructure and congenial academic atmosphere in the institute.
