In the best university in Punjab and in the top universities in India, Desh Bhagat University is going to organize its first ‘Winter Fete’ on Friday (16 January), in which students from different faculties will participate and exhibit their talents. Giving details of this event, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that, the fete will present a picture of rich Punjabi Culture and Heritage. The students will also make the audience aware through street play and skits about social evils e.g. Female Foeticide, Drugs, Dowry, Superstitions, and Magic Healing, etc., he added. The event will be open to the public.
Giving more details, Director Faculty of Education Dr. Surjeet Patheja said that during this Winter Fete, there will be Exhibitions cum Sale stalls of different products like Knitted Articles, Kurtis, Interior Decoration Articles, Aromatic Candles, Artificial Jewelry, Artificial Flowers, Needle Work Articles and Bed Sheets, etc. Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism Director Amit Sachdeva said that there will be a special Bakery Stall presenting different delicious and mouth-watering items like Cakes, Pastries, Patties, and Biscuits. Other attraction will be South Indian dishes like Dosa, Idli, and Sambar, etc.
Some of the famous Punjabi singers are also likely to entertain the audience during this program. For the entertainment of the school children, there will be events like Horse Riding, Camel Riding, and Merry-go-rounds.
