Desh Bhagat Campus, Sri Muktsar Sahib Turned into CCC (COVID CARE CENTRE)



To turn Desh Bhagat Campus into CCC, administrative officials accompanying Mr. Sandeep Kumar, ADC, Sri Muktsar Sahib visited the campus and decided to turn the Campus into CCC, where Mata Jarnail Kaur Memorial Institute of Nursing and Eloquence Institute of Ielts have the capacity of 250 & 230 beds respectively. In the view of above said matter, a Video Conference with Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) was held at Administrative Office. The conference was attended by Mr. Sandeep Kumar, ADC, Sri Muktsar Sahib and other officials. On behalf of Dr. Zora Singh, Chairman, Desh Bhagat Group, Mr. Sanjeev Jindal attended the conference. Dr. Zora Singh, Chairman, Desh Bhagat Group told that it is a matter of pride for him and his group that he has been given the opportunity for humanitarian service. He appealed the locality that to fight against Corona - COVID 19, we should follow the guidelines prescribed by the administration timely. This is remarkable that Desh Bhagat Group is being run under the kind memory of his father and prominent freedom fighter Sr. Lal Singh Ji.

Desh Bhagat University Donates to Punjab Government in Presence of Punjab Health & Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Balbir Singh Sidhu.


On the first death anniversary of Mata Jarnail Kaur, loving mother of Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University in top universities in India and best university in Punjab, the entire family made a generous donation to the society. Giving due consideration to the COVID-19 pandemic, our country and the whole world is going through, a specific donation inclusive of hand sanitizers, PPE Kits and mask was made.
We are exceedingly thankful to Punjab Health & Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Balbir Singh Sidhu for not only giving his unending support to our desire to help but also blessing us with his benign presence.

World Book Day-2020 Celebrations at Desh Bhagat University in Top Universities in India

The Literary Club of Desh Bhagat University celebrated World Book Day 2020 on April 23rd 2020 to honor authors, books worldwide and to promote & inculcate the habit of reading among its students.
Amidst COVID-19, when most of the schools and colleges around the world are closed due to lockdown and people are not spending their time outside, Staff and Students of best university in Punjab and in top universities in India, Desh Bhagat University decided to use the power of books in combating isolation, reinforcing ties between people, expanding our horizons by using mind and creativity.
On this day Desh Bhagat University organized a digital conference, where participants shared their views on the importance and benefits of good reading habits. Various types of online activities were organized for learners on the day like “Favourite Book Summary” in which the students were asked to write a paragraph on their favourite book and submit that to their class.
The University provided links of online literature books to its students on the day, especially of Shakespeare and short-story books of Indian English authors like R. K. Narayan as Literature Books teach the values of life even if one is sitting at home Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor & Dr. Tejinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor Desh Bhagat University congratulated the staff members and students for their unique endeavor to celebrate World Book Day and said, The whole world is fighting with CORONA disease and it is our duty to follow the lockdown rules and it is a great opportunity to realize the significance of reading and enrich our knowledge , treasure and generate a lifelong love for books. Vice Chancellor Desh Bhagat University appreciated the efforts of staff members to encourage students to participate in the activity and arrange a platform where one can open up and express their feelings to others despite distance.

Best University in Punjab Desh Bhagat University Celebrated World Creativity and Innovation Day

World Creativity and Innovation Day was celebrated to promote the culture of innovation and creativity among individuals. Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) at best university in Punjab and in top universities in India, Desh Bhagat University is also working to promote this culture. On this day Technology Business Incubator (TBI) under IEDC has launched a portable ventilator. This ventilator uses an Ambu bag which is driven by a mechanical-electronic system. Low cost, variable speed control through both mechanical and electronic systems are a few key features of the portable ventilator. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor and Dr. Tajinder Kaur Pro-chancellor of Desh Bhagat University encouraged the efforts of the TBI team for the time relevent innovation. Presently this system is installed in Desh Bhagat hospital for testing the robustness and accuracy of the system and it will be given to the district administration to deal with any exigency. Vice-chancellor, DBU appreciated the services of the team profusely.

Time to make our farmers aware about the new agricultural technologies - IAS Deepinder Singh

Desh Bhagat University, in top universities in India and best university in Punjab’s IEDC department organized 3rd Kisan Mela in the Campus. The event was organized by Agriculture and Food processing incubator of DBU-IEDC. The event provided a platform to the farmers and agricultural experts to interact and share their knowledge about latest techniques, equipments and subsidiary occupations.

University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur inaugurated this Mega Event. Speaking on the occasion they hoped that this Kisan Mela will prove a blessing for the farmers and students of agriculture courses.

IAS Deepinder Singh, Divisional Commissioner Patiala, was the chief guest of this event. He said that it is the need of time to make our farmers aware about the new agricultural technologies. Mr. Singh also advised the farmers to get full knowledge about production of crops, its processing and marketing to gain better profit.

IAS Amrit Kaur Gill, Deputy Commissioner Shri Fatehgarh Sahib, was the special guest. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Gill said that Farming is a profitable business if we do it with latest techniques and proper planning. She also advised the farmers to follow the directions of experts which they give from time to time for the better productions.

The experts of different fields like Organic Farming, Mushroom Farming, Food Processing, Honey Bee Farming, Poultry Farming and self help groups shared their experiences with the audience, Farmers and students.

On this occasion stalls of various brands and products attracted attention of everyone. These stalls demonstrated Solar Energy Equipments, Hi tech Farming Machines, the products like organic wheat, pulses, seeds, Ayurvedic and Herbal Products. Other attractions of the event were the performances of Giddha, Bhangra, Malwai Gidha and Singing competition.

Director IEDC Dr. Shalini Gupta thanked all the guests to give their valuable time for the event. The event ended with leaving behind ever lasting memories. Registrar Dr. Kulbhushan, Dr. Surjit Patheja, HoD’s and staff members from different faculties were also present at the occasion.

Mr. Bishwabhusan Harichandan, Governer of Andhra Pradesh Visits Desh Bhagat University, Best University in Punjab and in Top Universities in India During Convocation Ceremony

The 7th Convocation of best university in Punjab and in top universities in India Desh Bhagat University was held at Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Auditorium. About 1,200 degrees, related to Ph.D, M.Phil, Masters and Graduation, were awarded in this convocation. Chief Guest Mr. Bishwabhusan Harichandan Governor Andhra Pradesh and University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and other respected guests were welcomed by Vice-President Dr. Sandeep Singh. Chief Guest Shri Bishwabhushan Harichandan said that the future always depends on your dreams and it is your chance to go and fulfill your dreams. He inspired the students to stay away from social evils and work for development. Addressing the gathering of guests and students, Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh told the students that this is a special moment in your life after which you have to get involved in one of life's important struggles and contribute to the progress of the country. He also said that we need more to adopt a positive attitude towards life so that we can fulfill our and our parents’ dreams. Pro Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur gave best wishes to students for their bright future. On this occasion, Honorable Shri Biswashan Harichandan Governor Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Dnyaneshwar Mule, Punjabi Actor Binu Dhillon, Mr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Dr. Badrinath Patnaik, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma and Mr. Ravinder P. Singh Bedi were awarded a Doctorate Degree by Desh Bhagat University for outstanding contribution in various fields. Dr. Christopher Navanru from Nigiria, Dr. Jagannath Patnaik Vice Chancellor ICFAI University, Dr. Badrinath Patnaik and former Secretary of Foreign Affairs Dr. Dnyaneshwar Mule joined as special guest. ProVice Chancellor Dr. Vimal Sikri, Registrar Kulbhushan, Dr. Sanjeev Goel, MK Agarwal, Additional General Manager Indian Overseas Bank Mr. Kashmir Singh and Director Dr. Surjit Patheja also made a special contribution. Special Seminar on 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' at Desh Bhagat University Best University in Punjab



In top universities in India and best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University organized a special program on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and Anti Drugs awareness with the cooperation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India and Nehru Yuva Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib. During this event a special drama was played on the negative effects of drugs on society. On this occasion, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh was the chief guest. Appreciating the efforts of the Government of India and cooperation of the University, Dr. Zora Singh said a concerted effort would have to be made in a big way to eradicate drug abuse. He said that for the creation of a good society, daughters need to be educated. At the end of the program, Pro vice chancellor of the University Dr. Vimal Sikri thanked the Ministry of Government of India and Nehru Yuva Kendra Shri Fatehgarh Sahib for the support given to the University.
