Sizzing Fashion Fest-2016 at Desh Bhagat University In The Best Fashion Technology College In Punjab

In the best design colleges in Punjab and is the best b.sc. fashion technology college, Desh Bhagat University Department of Fashion Technology and Design Organized a highly enchanting Fashion Show named ‘Sizzling Fashion Fest-2016’. Students from various classes of Fashion and Technology exhibited their talents as well as innovative skills in designing eye-catching fashions. 

Mrs. Gargi Duggal (winner of Gladrags Mrs. India, North Zone 2012 & Gladrags Mrs. Elegant 2015 titles) was the Chief Guest on this occasion. After inaugurating the event she interacted with students and shared her experiences and some important tips about the Fashion World.

In this fashion show, the students demonstrated Indian as well as western dresses in their myriad forms. They began with the dresses made with Khadi according to the modern fashions in a very unique way, followed by Mughul style, Embroidery Designs, and work, Tie - Die and Pearls work-all made by students only. This fusion of the old and the new was liked the most by the spectators. The star attraction of the show was the presentation of ' Saree and Lehnga Rounds’ and the summer cotton wears prepared by the students. 

The sartorial creations were presented before the spectators through modeling and catwalk during theme-based rounds. The presentation and creations of the students captivated the all present.

Pro-Chancellor Ms. Tajinder Kaur said that all the dresses have been designed, stitched and represented by the students of Faculty of Design. They all worked very hard for this show under the guidance of their able and experienced teachers. Chief Guest Mrs. Duggal highly appreciated the skills and spirit of the students. The students who bagged positions in different rounds were honored. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that it was really a very impressive show and such shows opened new opportunities of employment for them. Desh Bhagat University Organises Education Trip For Students to Kullu

Desh Bhagat University Department of Fashion and Technology arranged an educational cum industrial tour to Kullu for the students of B.Sc. (FT) and M.Sc. (FT) classes. While giving details, university Pro-Chancellor Ms. Tajinder Kaur said that students accompanied by their teachers, Vishal Sharma, Bharat and Dimple visited the famous and important places of Kullu. The students were taken to the manufacturing houses that are producing hand-made Kullu Shawls.

Best Fashion Designing Course in Punjab

The craftsmen told the students in details from designing to weaving of the world famous Kullu Shawls and also informed the different types of wool like Angora, Merino and Sheep wool in which they are likely to make the Shawls. They added that these different kinds of wool are sometime used collectively to make more varieties. They informed them that these Shawls are world famous for their simple elegant designs and for fine woolen fabric & manufacturing quality. Students also practiced weaving of shawl on the looms.

 Next day students visited the Metal Craft Industry and took a close look of the working of the craftsmen there. The skilled metal craftsman of Kullu produces beautiful masks, chariots and palanquins of the Gods and Godesses, Traditional ornaments, local household articles and the traditional musical instruments in brass, silver and copper. The metal craft of Kullu depicts the local flora and fauna in their designs.  The craftsman taught the students about how to sketch a metal product with different tools like, nail, Hammer and cutter etc. Students admitted that the whole trip was very educative and they have learnt so many new things there.

University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur appreciated the initiative taken by the Department of Fashion and Technology and said that the students should get maximum industrial exposure to become time and market relevant. Art Exhibition prayaas -15 At Desh Bhagat University In The Best Fashion Designing Technology College in Punjab

In the best fashion designing technology college in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University organized an Exhibition cum Art Festival Paryaas-2015. During the three days long exhibition students of fine arts showcased their talent and creative skills through Sculpturing, Sketching, Graphic Design, Paper Cutting, 3-D Modelling, Composition Painting, Portrait, Sketching and drawing, etc. The event was inaugurated by University Pro-Chancellor, Mrs. Tajinder Kaur. Addressing the students she appreciated the creativity and functioning of the students saying that today the scope of Fine Arts has widened and the professionals are making handsome earnings. S. Jagdeep Singh Garcha from Department of Fine Arts, Punjabi University Patiala was the chief guest on the occasion. He said that Artists express their feelings and what is in their minds through objects and sometimes their creations speak without saying anything. Interacting with students, he also explained in detail about the different techniques and precautions necessary for making of Paintings and Sculptures. Renowned artists S. Balwinder Singh from Khanna and Mr. R. K. Nigam from Dehradoon were guest of honor, who shared his experiences as an artist in different parts of the country and abroad. A delegation/team of artists consisting of Pritpal Singh, Navdeep Singh and Kamaljeet Singh from Sobha Singh Memorial Art Group, Jagraon especially came to honor the winner students who had participated in the exhibition at Jagraon earlier. The names of the students are Inderjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Sanpreet Kaur, Sameena Bano, Raman Kumari, and Bimal. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh appreciated the artistic creations of the students saying that this event has been organized to acquaint the students with the latest trends in the art industry at the international level. Guest lecture on Cad Software At Desh Bhagat University In The Best University In Punjab

In the best fashion designing technology college in Punjab and in the best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Design organized a Guest Lecture on use of CAD software in the fashion industry and academics, under Industry-Academia Interface Series. A large number of students from the departments of Fashion Technology & Design, Fine Arts and from Animation and Multi-Media attended it. The keynote speaker on this the occasion was Mr. Jince (Support & Training Head at Techno Piece Solutions, Hyderabad), who has a long experience of training about this software and his presentation covered various aspects of the garment the manufacturing process in the industry.

While interacting with the students, the learned speaker explained to the students & the faculty members how beneficial this software could be for Garment Pattern Making, Fashion Designing, Jacquard Designing, Embroidery Designing, all kinds of testing instruments for fiber, Yarn and Fabrics, etc. This software has given the new dimensions to the designing industry and students can create countless designs with the help of this software. The demand for CAD experts is very high in the industry and most of the manufacturing companies are now equipped with this software. He also shared some important tips about the handling of this software and also his experiences with the students. The lecture was followed by a range of queries put forward by the students to which the learned speaker aptly replied. The students were quite happy to attend the lecture and expressed the view that the session was very informative. They thanked the university authority for arranging such a knowledgeable event and said that it has added several important things about the use of CAD software to their knowledge. University Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur expressed the view that the University aims to make the student's prospect industry ready. They further articulated that such events are very useful for their multi- dimensional growth. Giving details, Vice Chancellor Dr, Shalini Gupta stated that the program was arranged under Industry-Academia Interface Series, which the university has started recently and the main focus of this event was to equip the students with technical knowledge of CAD software and it's working.
