Among Best Hotel Management and Tourism College in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Hotel Management & Tourism and Department of Airlines Tourism and Hospitality Management (ATHM) celebrated Tourism Week.
The program was arranged in connection with World Tourism Day. In this programme, students of Hotel Management and ATHM classes participated with full enthusiasm.
The event was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh. As part of this programme, students undertook a drive to create awareness regarding cleanliness of public places and maintenance of our historical monuments,
which are the main spots of attraction for tourists in India.
On the last day, students participated in various events like Cake Making, Rangoli, Face Painting, Flower Arrangements, Chart Making, Making Models of Monuments, Collage Making, Power Point Presentation (PPT) and Quiz Competition etc.
Highlight of the final day programme was Cultural events.
Students presented Gujrati, Punjabi, Bengali and Himachali folk songs, wearing traditional dresses which enthralled the audience.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh while presiding over the prize distribution function addressed the students and enlightened them about various aspects of Tourism and importance of World Tourism Day.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur emphasized that the deep rooted relationship between tourism and our cultural assets should be fully recognized and highlighted.
Both of them appreciated the performances of the students and the arrangements done by the faculty members.
They also gave awards the students who performed exceptionally well.
Director Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism hoped that these students will do their best to promote tourism in India.
