Desh Bhagat University Bachelor of Fine Arts college in Punjab and Department of Art and Craft jointly organised an Art Exhibition ‘Kalakriti-2016’ at university campus. While giving details of the event, university Pro Chancellor Ms. Tajinder kaur said that the aim of this event was to motivate the students to explore their talents freely.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated this art exhibition. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Art is not what you see but what you make others see. He highly appreciated the artistic approach of the students and said that such events provide a platform to students to show their talents and boost their confidence as well.
Diploma in Art and Craft Department The artists showed their talent by participating in Clay Modelling, Painting, Photography and Sketch Making during this exhibition. The students presented their emotions through clay modeling and wood arts. Students made very attractive clay statues of famous personalities.
In photography; theme was nature’s beauty, in which participants showed their skills beautifully. Last session of this exhibition was a mixed for Poster making, sketching and painting. Students also made 3D paintings and banners against social evils like Drugs, Dowry and Female foeticide etc. Paintings showing the glimpses of Punjabi & Gujrati culture made by the teachers also got good appreciations.
The painters of paintings which were liked most were honoured. Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh praised and appreciated the talent of the students. He encouraged the students to move ahead in their pursuit of knowledge and talent enhancement. Head of the Departments and class in-charges were also present on the occasion.
