In top universities in India and best university in Punjab, Desh
Bhagat University organized a special program on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and
Anti Drugs awareness with the cooperation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth
Affairs, Government of India and Nehru Yuva Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib. During this
event a special drama was played on the negative effects of drugs on society.
On this occasion, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh was the chief guest.
Appreciating the efforts of the Government of India and cooperation of the University,
Dr. Zora Singh said a concerted effort would have to be made in a big way to
eradicate drug abuse. He said that for the creation of a good society,
daughters need to be educated. At the end of the program, Pro vice chancellor
of the University Dr. Vimal Sikri thanked the Ministry of Government of India
and Nehru Yuva Kendra Shri Fatehgarh Sahib for the support given to the
University.
