'Special Seminar on Baba Nanak's Teaching and the Role of
Women'
A series of programs have been organized by best university in Punjab and in top universities in India, Desh Bhagat
University under the teachings of Guru Sahib, the week being celebrated in
connection with the 550 years Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Under
this the plants were planted by the University and by Baba Nanak According to
the teachings, a special seminar was also organized on the role of women in the
society. Planting campaign started under the leadership of University
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh.
In a seminar on the role of women in the society, speakers
from different departments presented their views. During this seminar, shed
light on the lives of women Bibi Nanki, Bibi Bhavi, Bibi Amro, Mata Gujri etc
and their sacrifices. Desh Bhagat University will plant 550 saplings this week.
Speaking on the occasion, University Chancellor Dr. Zora
Singh said that while learning from such historical personalities, today's
woman can give great value to the society and we all have to give higher status
to women while learning from the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said
that we should take care of the smallest aspect of nature by following Baba
Nanak's path.
Speaking during this seminar, University Prof. Chancellor Dr.
Tejinder Kaur said that today's women should be educated as well as accept the
teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji so that apart from privacy, today's women
can make maximum contribution to the betterment of society.
