In
the best university in Punjab and in top universities in India, Desh Bhagat
University organized a grand Iftar party for all Kashmiri Students. A large
number of University Kashmiri students turned up at a grand iftar party held at
Mata Gujri hostel’s ground. More than 500 Students from different departments
were present on this occasion.
University
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Pro
Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh.
Iftar
is an occasion where families, friends meet and greet each other and share food
with one another. This is a true spirit of Islamic brotherhood which helps
people to develop understanding and goodwill with their brethren. Students
shared meals with all guests and faculty members.
The
presence of different students from other communities shows the unity that all
belongs to one nation. This was a good example of unity among all members of
the Desh Bhagat University. After praying namaz, the program was peacefully
concluded with a dinner program.
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that
“University has always been very keen to support the social wellbeing of the
community and focus on social responsibilities as part of the University
culture.”
On this occasion Vice
Chancellor Dr. Virinder Sing said that such holy festivities are strengthening
community brotherhood. He said that the University would continue to make such
arrangements during the coming years so that the students could be encouraged
to understand social and secular responsibilities. Students pay gratitude
towards to the university for this wonderful function.
