In the Best Agriculture College in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Organized 2nd Kisan Mela

In the Best Agriculture College in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University’s IEDC department organized 2nd Kisan Mela in the Campus. The event was organized by Agriculture and Food processing incubator of DBU-IEDC. The event provided a platform to the farmers and agricultural experts to interact and share their knowledge about the latest techniques, equipment and subsidiary occupations.

University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur inaugurated this Mega Event. Speaking on the occasion they hoped that this Kisan Mela will prove a blessing for the farmers and students of agriculture courses.

On this occasion A.D.O Sr. Amritpal Singh from Agriculture and farmer welfare department Amloh said that it is the need of time to make our farmers aware of the new agricultural technologies.

Sardar Darshan Singh chairman PDA (PAU Ludhiana) was the Keynote Speaker. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kang said that Farming is a profitable business if we do it with the latest techniques and proper planning. He also advised the farmers to follow the directions of PAU Experts which they give from time to time for the better productions. He also advised the farmers to get full knowledge about the production of crops, it's processing and marketing to gain better profit.

Director IEDC Dr. Shalini Gupta informed that S. Gurjot Singh PNB farmer training center, S. Gurdev Singh Vice President Bharat Kisan Union, S. Paramjit Singh, S. Dilbagh Singh Chairman Block Samiti and Sarpanch S. Baljinder Singh graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.

The experts of different fields like Organic Farming, Mushroom Farming, Food Processing, Honey Bee Farming, Poultry Farming, and self-help groups shared their experiences with the audience, Farmers and students.

On this occasion stalls of various brands and products attracted the attention of everyone. These stalls demonstrated Solar Energy Equipments, Hi-tech Farming Machines, the products like organic wheat, pulses, seeds, Ayurvedic and Herbal Products. The response of the audience was excellent to many Exhibitions cum Sale stalls of different products. Other attractions of the event were the performances of Giddha, Bhangra, Malwai Gidha, and Singing by the individuals and teams of Girls and Boys.

Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur thanked all the guests to spare their valuable time for the event. The event ended with leaving behind everlasting memories. Registrar Dr. Kulbhushan, Dr. Surjit Patheja, Dr. H. K. Sidhu and HoD’S and staff members from different faculties were also present at the occasion.
