NCC Air Wing has been started in
best university in Punjab and in top universities in India, Desh Bhagat
University campus. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary
organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities
all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and
parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service
once they complete their course but they are prepared to join Indian Armed
Forces.
Students of DBU have shown
enthusiastic interest and have actively participated in inauguration function.
Commanding officer 3 Punjab Air Squadron NCC group Captain GS Cheema with his
staff Warrant Officer Satvir Singh, JWO Sunil Mishra and Corporal Lalti Sharma
visited Desh Bhagat University to inaugurate the NCC air wing. Desh Bhagat
University becomes the first university of Punjab to introduce NCC air wing.
The University also has Aeronautical Department and has also started Aerospace
Club Under the aegis of Aeronautical Society of India, Chandigarh Branch for
the promotion of aviation activities.
On this occasion Captain G S Cheema motivated
the students to join NCC to develop qualities of character, courage,
discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and to serve our
motherland. He encouraged students to be always available for the service of
the Nation. He also sensitized students about surgical strike carried out by
Indian Army in the PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir).
