In Best B. Pharmacy Colleges in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University School of Pharmacy celebrated 10th World Pharmacy Day under the theme of “Your medicines experts”. The event was inaugurated with cake cutting ceremony by Chief Guest Dr. Anand Pandey, General Manager R&D Nector life sciences Ltd and Speakar Dr. Nirmal Singh Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala.

In this program, students of pharmacy participated with full enthusiasm. As part of this program, students create awareness regarding medicines, research ethics in medicine field and about the DPCO (Drug Price Control Order). Students participated in Declamation Competition and Poster Presentation Competition. In Poster presentation competition Pushpinder Singh won first prize, Prince Bhalla and Achal Kumar won second prize. In poster declamation competition Adfar Qadir got first prize and Khushboo Kumari got second prize, both Students from B.Pharmacy 5th Sem.

Chief Guest Dr. Anand Pandey motivated the students to take interest in Research & Development and updated the student regarding latest technology being used in pharmaceutical industry. Speaker Dr. Nirmal Singh Presented a Presentation on the topic Animals- An Essential Tool in Research and Development.

Highlight of the final program was Cultural events. A wonderful dance performance was given by Nishi Kapoor Student of pharmacy. Students presented a play on expensive medicines as compared to generic medicines. The play exposed corrupt system of doctors and chemists in our country.

University Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh while presiding over the prize distribution function addressed the students and enlightened them about various aspects of World Pharmacy Day. He also appreciated the performances of the students and the arrangements done by the Hod  Puja Gulati and faculty members.
