Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur on the International Yoga Day said that ‘Yoga is
the art work of awareness on the canvas of body, mind and soul. It transforms
new energy, enthusiasm and positive thinking in us and our youth have to adopt
yoga for holistic development of their personalities’.
She was speaking on the inaugural ceremony of 4th International
Day of Yoga organized at the University. The District level program was
organised in collaboration with Ayush Department, Punjab and District Ayurvedic
and Unani office, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.
The team of Ayush Department was headed by Dr. Poonam
Vashist (District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, FGS) who said that it’s proud
moment for all of us that today Yoga has attained a new identity all over the
world. The Ayush team consisting of Dr. Rajan Kaushal (Medical Officer), Dr.
Jaswant Singh, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Deewan Dheer (District Ayurvedic
Officer) and Dr. Kulwinder Sharma imparted the knowledge of various types of
yoga exercises.

Ayurveda RasaShastra, B.Sc. Naturopathy & Yogic Science and Post Graduate

Dr. Harinder Pal Singh, Dr. Uma Bedi, Dr. Manilla and Dr.
Bhanu Priya demonstrated different postures that are beneficial for all age
groups.
