Desh Bhagat University’s Department of Aeronautical Engineering organised an Aeromodelling Show. The event was arranged by Aerospace Club of the university in collaboration with Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI). Students of different classes participated in it and presented their Aero Models. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh welcomed the chief guest and other guests.
Mr. S.P Singh (Retired Air NCC Aeromodler) a member of Aeronautical Society of India was chief guest on this occasion. In his key note speech he discussed about Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), its importance for armed forces in today’s hi-tech era. He also educated the students about recent trends in aerospace technology, future expectations and expansion in aviation. He described the innovative Aeronautical methodologies being adopted nowadays by aeronautical world. Students asked relevant questions on concerned topic which the learned speakers answered to their entire satisfaction.
Er. Parmod K. Mandal , Head of Aeronautical Engineering briefed that Apart from students exhibited their projects and in Aero modeling competition students showed their skills as individual and in team projects as well. He has also emphasized that Desh Bhagat University will be introducing B Tech. Aerospace Engineering and B Sc. Aircraft Maintenance from 2017-18 session to meet the requirements of skilled manpower in Aviation sector as recommended by UGC.In Aero modeling competition students demonstrated Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, RC Air crafts and Quard Rotor Drones made by them.
The winners of different categories are as below:Remote Control Aircraft Team consisting of Mohit Kumar, Harwinder, Kiran, Aman and Hussain (all from B. Tech, Aeronautical Engineering)
Quard rotor Drone: Sukhwinder (B.Tech), Shivam and Anish (Diploma Aeronautical Engineering) were adjudged winners.The experts appreciated their innovative ideas and guided them how they can improve. During the technical cum interaction sessions, lectures were delivered by experts and PPT, Oral and Poster presentations were made by teachers and Aeronautical students. The students said the views expressed by the experts have encouraged them to learn maximum.
At the end of the event, University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh, thanked all the guests and said that it will prove quite useful for the students and faculty members. On this occasion Dr. Rajan Manro, Aeronautical faculty members Er. Harekrishna, Er. Loveleen,
Er . Roli Jaiswal and others were present.
