Desh Bhagat University Organises Workshop On Artificial Intellignce For Computer Science Students

Desh Bhagat University Training and Placement Department organised a Technical Workshop for IT students. The workshop was aimed at acquainting the students with latest trends and technology of computer applications. A large number of students from MCA, M.Sc. (IT), PGDCA, B. Tech (CSE) , B.Sc. and BCA classes actively took participate.Giving details, Pro Chancellor Ms. Tajinder Kaur stated that from new session the university has started especial programmes on Industry-Academia Interface for the students. She briefed that the expert team which visited the university was headed by Mr. Manu Chopra Guest Faculty (Stanford University, California). Manu Chopra has expertise in Artificial Intelligence field. He invented and subsequently patented an anti-molestation device for women as an answer to rape cases in India for which he was honoured by the Indian President Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam.



While interacting with the students Manu Chopra motivated them to explore their ideas, Note them down and expand them. He said it’s only technology and the unique ideas that can produce big results so focus on them and make thinking as one of their free time activity. He exhorted the students to be an entrepreneurs rather than to be an employees.Mr. Himanshu Batra (Founder & CEO @ AcadView) while interacted with the students he emphasized that in order to get good placements in IT industry, the students should have strong practical knowledge and this is possible only through live projects.


During the workshop, the information session was followed up by various queries put forward by students to which the learned speakers aptly replied which further enhanced the knowledge of students. A small test to assess the knowledge of students was also a part of this workshop. The students were quite happy to attend these programmes and declared that it was very informative. They thanked the university authorities for arranging such a knowledgeable workshop and said that it has added to their knowledge about several important things about the latest techniques and technology.


University Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh expressed the view that such events are very useful for students and help them in their multi-functional growth. He appreciated the initiative taken by Training and Placement Department. At the end of the workshop, university Vice-Chancellor Dr. Varinder Singh thanked the learned team and expected that it will prove quite useful for the students and faculty members.
