Desh Bhagat University In Collaboration With Iit, Delhi Organises Technical Workshop On Virtual Labs

Desh Bhagat University Faculty of School of Engineering and Technology organised a two day Technical Workshop on Virtual Labs for the students and faculty members of all Engineering Courses. The workshop was arranged in collaboration with IIT, Delhi under the National Mission on Education through ICT, an Initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), in which faculty members and students from different parts of the region participated. While giving details about this workshop, University Pro Chancellor Tajinder Kaur said that Desh Bhagt University is a Nodal Center for Virtual Labs selected by MHRD, which is helping the students and faculty members of the region. The initiative provides remote-access to labs in various disciplines of Science and Engineering and improves the quality of education. The expert team that came to the university from IIT, Delhi was consisting of Mr. Gurudutta Sharma and Mr. Bhairav Patra . They explained about the uses of Virtual Lab and their benefits to the students and Faculty members as well. They said that in virtual lab, students can avail the various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations and self evaluation. Students can conduct experiments and this would help them in learning basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation. The expert team updated the students about the latest techniques and inspired them to gain maximum knowledge through this Lab. They also gave a number of tips to improve their skill & capability. The students, who were quite happy and excited to attend the workshop, said that they have attained much fresh knowledge about some new areas which will help them a lot. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh congratulated the faculty and staff members for arranging the workshop successfully. He exhorted the students to take full benefit of such programmes, which are arranged by the university from time to time. Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh thanked the IIT team for sharing their valuable views and experiences with the students.
