DESH BHAGAT UNIVERSITY 3RD CONVOCATION HELD, 700 DEGREES CONFERRED Mandi Gobindgarh 3rd Annual Convocation of Desh Bhagat University was held on Sunday in a very impressive manner. About 700 pass outs including PhD’s and M. Phil’s of the university and the Desh Bhagat United belonging to different streams participated in the convocation and received their degrees and medals. Honourable Justice Mr. N. K. Sanghi, Punjab & Haryana High Court was Chief Guest on this occasion. In his address, he exhorted the students to have high values, work hard and adopt positive attitude to fulfill their own dreams as well as the dreams of their parents. He also urged the youth to keep away from all kinds of drugs and contribute in the development of the nation.
Addressing the graduates and the mammoth gathering present on the occasion, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that the youth are the backbone of the country, they have full potential to take our country to pinnacle of glory on the world Canvas and they can keep the trajectory up always.
Pro Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Ms. Tajinder Kaur welcomed Chief Guest, Guests of Honour as well as all other guests. She read Citations about Honourable Justice Mr. N. K. Sanghi and the other recipients of the honorary degrees. She also declared that by accepting the Ph.D. degrees from Desh Bhagat University, these personalities have become its alumni.
On this occasion, Desh Bhagat University conferred Ph.D / D. Lit (Honoris Causa) degree on Ambassador Deepak Vohra (Special Advisor to Prime Minister Lesotho and Guinea-Bissau), , Dr. Jagannath Patnaik, Vice–Chancellor, Kalinga University (Chhattisgarh), Shri Brham Rishi Gurvanand Swami (Tirupati), S.Hardev Singh Bal (President , Indo- Canadian Business Association) and Mr. Imam Umer Ahmed (President, All India Organisations of Imams), who was Guest of Honour . All the recipients of honorary degrees thanked the University for recognizing their contribution to the society and honouring them for the same.
