Students Exhibit Sports Skills During Inter Faculty Games At Desh Bhagat University

Desh Bhagat University organised inter faculty games, in which teams from all the faculties participated with full enthusiasm. Players showed their excellent sports skills in the games of Volleyball, Football, Kabaddi and Tug of War etc. Desh Bhagat University Pro Chancellor, Tejinder Kaur inaugurated the event and said that games and sports are an essential part of our education, these have educational as well as recreational value and these also keep us fit and fine. The event was a source of great education and entertainment for the students and staff members. All the teams played their best and fought hard.

After league matches, the Finals of the tournament were particularly thrilling and breath-taking. In finals of Volleyball (Girls), Faculty of Nursing beat Faculty of Business Management & Commerce by 25-19, while in Volleyball (Boys category) Faculty of Ayurveda beat Faculty of Law by 25-21points. The final of Football (Boys) was also very interesting; in this match Faculty of Nursing beat Faculty of Business Management & Commerce by 2-1goals. The game of the soil ‘Kabbadi’ (circle style) got overwhelming response from the students and in the much awaited final of this game, the ground was fully packed with spectators. Players of both teams tried their best, but in the end Faculty of Ayurveda beat Faculty of Education by 13-11 points. In Tug of War, both boys and girls teams showed lot of strength and zeal. Final of this game was also stunning and audience shouted like children on every inch movement of the teams. In girls category, Faculty of Law beat Faculty of Education and in Boys category Faculty of Business Management & Commerce beat Faculty of Law. These games were held under the supervision of sports coordinator Nandan Singh.

University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh presided over the Prize Distribution function. While congratulating the winning teams and best players, he expressed his happiness and said that the important thing in a game is not to win or lose but to play in the true sportsman spirit. University vice Chancellor Dr. Shalini Gupta and Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shantnu Chatterjee said that Desh Bhagat University is providing all types of facilities for all the major indoor and outdoor games to its students so that they are able to attain the desired heights in the field of sports. Registrar Dr. Virinder Singh, Director Academic Dr. Rajesh Goyal, Directors and staff members of different faculties were also present on the occasion.
