Dbu Professor Achhru Singh Honoured With Lifetime Achievement Award

Prof. Achhru Singh who has been teaching Communication Skills, Value Education and Personality Development subjects at Desh Bhagat University for about seven years has been honoured with ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ by N.S.S Department of Punjabi Univesity, Patiala. The award was given to him during Annual Youth Convention held at Punjabi University by its Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh, in recognition of his distinguished services to the N. S. S. during his lifetime.

Congratulating Prof. Achhru Singh on this achievement, Chancellor DBU Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Tejinder Kaur said that this award is a result of his distinguished services in the field of social service and literature. His contribution in social service and literature are highly commendable. Vice Chancellor Dr. Shalini Gupta, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shantnu Chatterjee, Registrar Dr. Virinder Singh and whole staff members congratulated him on this achievement and hoped that he will continue his services with much more zeal.

It is worth mentioning that Prof. Achhru Singh has remained actively involved in social service and organised a number of NSS, Youth Development and National Integration Camps. He has also done appreciable work in the field of Blood Donation, Health Care, Cleanliness, Preservation of environment and help to the needy people. In the literary field, he has translated more than two dozen English classics into Punjabi, written 10 books in English & Punjabi and edited/complied 10 books. Besides, he also writes highly educative articles for various newspapers.
